Dapo Olorunyomi
Oyedapo Oyekunle "Dapo" Olorunyomi (born 8 November 1957), is a Nigerian journalist. He is the publisher and editor-in-chief of ''Premium Times'', an online Nigerian newspaper. He is also the executive director of Premium Times Centre for Investigative Journalism (PTCIJ). He was the policy director and chief of staff to the executive chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). Early life and education Olorunyomi was born in Kano, to Samuel Akinbayo Olorunyomi (who retired from the Army and then from the civil service as an Administrator) and Mary Olorunyomi. He attended St. Bartholomew's Primary School, Wusasa, Zaria, and Esie-Iludun Anglican Grammar School, Esie-Iludun and the Government Secondary School, Ilorin. CPJ International Press Freedom Awards
The CPJ International Press Freedom Awards honor journalists or their publications around the world who show courage in defending press freedom despite facing attacks, threats, or imprisonment. Established in 1991, the awards are administered by the Committee to Protect Journalists (CPJ), an independent, non-governmental organization based in New York City. In addition to recognizing individuals, the organization seeks to focus local and international media coverage on countries where violations of press freedom are particularly serious. Abdulsalami Abubakar (; born 13 June 1942) is a Nigerian statesman and retired Nigerian Army general who served as the ''de facto'' President of Nigeria from 1998 to 1999. He was also Chief of Defence Staff between 1997 and 1998. He succeeded General Sani Abacha upon his death.
