A peace movement is a social movement which seeks to achieve ideals such as the ending of a particular war (or wars) or minimizing inter-human violence in a particular place or situation. They are often linked to the goal of achieving world peace. Susan Golding
Susan G. Golding (born August 18, 1945) is an American politician who served as the 32nd mayor of San Diego from 1992 to 2000. A member of the Republican Party, she previously served as a member of the San Diego County Board of Supervisors from 1985 to 1992 and as a member of the San Diego City Council from 1981 to 1983. Golding currently serves president and CEO of the Child Abuse Prevention Foundation in San Diego. She also serves on the boards and advisory committees of the Pacific Council on International Policy and the International Republican Institute. Personal life Golding was born in Muskogee, Oklahoma, and grew up in Lafayette and Indianapolis, Indiana. She earned a B.A. in Government & International Relations from Carleton College, and a M.A. from Columbia University.
