Danny Bird (speedway Rider)
Daniel Lee Bird (born 16 November 1979) is a former motorcycle speedway rider from England. Speedway career Bird began his British racing career riding for Isle of Wight Islanders during the 1998 Premier League speedway season and helped his team win the end of season Young Shield. Over the next three seasons he gradually improved his average and by the 2001 season was the team's heat leader alongside Ray Morton. He also won a second Young Shield in 2001. In 2002, he reached the first of three consecutive British Speedway Championship finals and won the Premier League Pairs Championship partnering Adam Shields for the Isle of Wight, during the 2002 Premier League speedway season. The following season he won the Knockout Cup with the Islanders and also doubled up, riding for Ipswich Witches in the top division. The 2007 Elite League speedway season was the 73rd season of the top division of motorcycle speedway in the United Kingdom and governed by the Speedway Control Bureau (SCB), in conjunction with the British Speedway Promoters' Association (BSPA). Shane Andrew Parker (born 29 April 1970 in Adelaide, South Australia) is a former motorcycle speedway rider from Australia and a four time South Australian Champion. Career Australia Parker attended LeFevre High School in the Adelaide suburb of Semaphore South, and started in speedway at the Under-16 Sidewinders Speedway in Wingfield in the early 1980s. He won the South Australian Under-16 Championships in 1983 and 1984 and went on to win the Australian Under-16 Championship in 1985 at Sidewinders (defeating Leigh Adams), and finish third in 1986 at the Olympic Park Speedway in Mildura, before turning 16 and graduating into the senior ranks.
