Danny Bentley
Danny R. Bentley is an American politician who has served as a Republican member of the Kentucky House of Representatives since January 2017. He represents Kentucky's 98th House district which includes Greenup County as well as part of Boyd County. He is not seeking reelection in 2024. Background Bentley was raised in South Shore, Kentucky, and attended McKell High School. While at McKell, Bentley played both football and baseball alongside future Cincinnati Reds pitcher and coach, Don Gullett. After graduating in 1968, he went on to attend Eastern Kentucky University before transferring to the University of Kentucky where he would earn both his Bachelor of Science and Doctor of Pharmacy degrees. Andy Beshear
Andrew Graham Beshear (born November 29, 1977) is an American attorney and politician who has served as the 63rd governor of Kentucky since December 2019. A member of the Democratic Party, he is the son of the 61st governor of Kentucky, Steve Beshear. Beshear was elected attorney general of Kentucky in 2015. As attorney general, he sued Governor Matt Bevin several times over issues such as pensions. He then challenged and defeated Bevin by 0.4% of the vote in the 2019 gubernatorial election. Insulin (medication)
As a medication, insulin is any pharmaceutical preparation of the protein hormone insulin that is used to treat high blood glucose. Such conditions include type 1 diabetes, type 2 diabetes, gestational diabetes, and complications of diabetes such as diabetic ketoacidosis and hyperosmolar hyperglycemic states. Insulin is also used along with glucose to treat hyperkalemia (high blood potassium levels). Type 2 Diabetes
Type 2 diabetes, formerly known as adult-onset diabetes, is a form of diabetes mellitus that is characterized by high blood sugar, insulin resistance, and relative lack of insulin. Common symptoms include increased thirst, frequent urination, and unexplained weight loss. Symptoms may also include increased hunger, feeling tired, and sores that do not heal. Often symptoms come on slowly. Long-term complications from high blood sugar include heart disease, strokes, diabetic retinopathy which can result in blindness, kidney failure, and poor blood flow in the limbs which may lead to amputations.
