Dannhauser Local Municipality
Dannhauser Municipality () is a Local municipality (South Africa), local municipality within the Amajuba District Municipality, in the KwaZulu-Natal province of South Africa. The municipality is named after Renier Dannhauser, a German settler who in 1872 purchased four farms in the area from the Natal Government. The major economic sectors are agriculture and mining. Mining, however, is undergoing a movement away from large scale operations to smaller operations. Inkatha Freedom Party
The Inkatha Freedom Party (IFP; ) is a conservative political party in South Africa, which is a part of the current South African Third Cabinet of Cyril Ramaphosa, government of national unity together with the African National Congress (ANC). Although registered as a national party, it has had only minor electoral success outside its home province of KwaZulu-Natal. Mangosuthu Buthelezi, who served as chief minister of KwaZulu during the Apartheid period, founded the party in 1975 and led it until 2019. 2021 South African Municipal Elections
The 2021 South African Municipal Elections were held on 1 November 2021, to elect councils for all district, metropolitan and local municipalities in each of the country's nine provinces. It was the 6th municipal election cycle held in South Africa since the end of apartheid in 1994, with the previous municipal elections having been held in 2016. On 21 April 2021, President Cyril Ramaphosa announced the elections to be held on Wednesday, 27 October 2021. It had been recommend by Dikgang Moseneke to delay the municipal elections until 2022. The Electoral Commission of South Africa (IEC) requested the Constitutional Court to support the date postponement. The Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) supported the date postponement while the Democratic Alliance (DA) was against the postponement of the date.
