Daniil Pakhomov
Daniil Pavlovich Pakhomov (russian: Даниил Павлович Пахомов); born 5 August 1998) is a Russian swimmer. He won four gold medals in (200 m, 100 m butterfly, 4 × 100 m medley and 4 × 100 m mixed medley) and breaking a new Junior World record in 100m butterfly at the 2015 European Games. Career In June 2015, 16-year-old Pakhomov was selected to compete at the inaugural 2015 European Games in Baku, Pakhomov won four gold medals, in (200m, 100 m butterfly), in 4 × 100 m mixed medley (with Anton Chupkov, Arina Openysheva and Maria Kameneva at a time of 3:49.53) and in 4 × 100 m medley (with Anton Chupkov, Vladislav Kozlov and Filipp Shopin touching in at 3:36.38), a new junior world record breaking the previous record held by Russia in 3:38.02 at the 2014 Youth Olympics. Butterfly Swimming
The butterfly (colloquially shortened to fly) is a swimming stroke swum on the chest, with both arms moving symmetrically, accompanied by the butterfly kick (also known as the " dolphin kick"). While other styles like the breaststroke, front crawl, or backstroke can be swum adequately by beginners, the butterfly is a more difficult stroke that requires good technique as well as strong muscles. It is the newest swimming style swum in competition, first swum in 1933 and originating out of the breaststroke. Speed and ergonomics The peak speed of the butterfly is faster than that of the front crawl due to the synchronous pull/push with both arms and legs, which is done quickly. Yet since speed drops significantly during the recovery phase, it is overall slightly slower than front crawl, especially over longer distances. Anastasia Valeryevna Fesikova (russian: Анастасия Валерьевна Фесикова; born 8 May 1990), née Anastasia Zuyeva, is a Russian swimmer who holds the Russian national records for the 50, 100 and 200 metres backstroke events. 2015 World Aquatics Championships
The 16th FINA World Championships (russian: Чемпионат мира по водным видам спорта 2015), also Aquatics 2015, were held in Kazan, Russia from 24 July to 9 August 2015. Russia hosted this event for the first time. The number of participating national teams (190), athletes (2,400) and the number of medals (75) were the most ever amongst these championships. This was the first time the World Aquatics Championships partially overlaps with the FINA World Masters Championships that have a number of athletes (near 5,500), countries (110) and medals (635) which are the most ever also. Swimming At The 2014 Summer Youth Olympics
Swimming at the 2014 Summer Youth Olympics was held from 17 to 22 August at the Nanjing Olympic Sports Center in Nanjing, China. Qualification Each National Olympic Committee (NOC) can enter a maximum of 8 athletes, 4 per each gender and 2 per each event. As hosts, China is given the maximum quota and 112 places, 56 per each gender will be decided by the Tripartite Commission. The remaining 280 places, 140 per each gender qualified by achieving the Qualifying Standard Time (“A standard” allows 2 athletes in an event while the “B standard” allows 1 athlete in an event) and being among the top 140 eligible athletes in the FINA Points Table. Also only the 16 nations with the most FINA points after the 2013 World Aquatics Championships will be allowed to qualify the maximum quota.
