Danielle Bounds holds the title of Miss Earth United States 2010 and placed in the Top 14 at the Miss Earth 2010 pageant. Background Danielle was born on Easter Sunday April 22, 1984. She says "I was born for the title of Miss Earth United States", since her birthday falls on the international holiday Earth Day every year. Bounds graduated from a private non-denominational high school in 2002 and was her graduating class valedictorian. Miss Earth USA (formerly Miss Earth United States) is an annual beauty pageant which selects the United States representative to Miss Earth which is an annual international beauty pageant promoting environmental awareness. The current titleholder is Natalia Salmon from Pennsylvania. Salmon was crowned Miss Earth USA 2022 on January 8, 2022 by the reigning Miss Earth USA, Marisa Butler of Maine during the competition that was held at the Orange County Convention Center's Linda Chapin Theater in Orlando, Florida. But after her 6 months of reign as Miss Earth USA, Salmon was later dethroned by the Miss Earth USA organization in July 7, 2022 because of unknown reasons. Miss Earth 2010
Miss Earth 2010, the 10th anniversary of the Miss Earth pageant, was held on 4 December 2010 at the Vinpearl Land Amphitheater in Nha Trang, Vietnam. Larissa Ramos of Brazil crowned her successor Nicole Faria of India at the end of the event. She was the first Miss Earth from India. Eighty-four contestants from various countries and territories competed for the Miss Earth 2010 title. The event was broadcast live by STAR World, VTV, ABS-CBN, Studio 23, The Filipino Channel, and other partner networks. The Miss Earth winner serves as the spokesperson for the Miss Earth Foundation, the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), and other environmental organizations. Earth Day is an annual event on April 22 to demonstrate support for environmental protection. First held on April 22, 1970, it now includes a wide range of events coordinated globally by EarthDay.org (formerly Earth Day Network) including 1 billion people in more than 193 countries. Ashley Renee Litton is a beauty queen from Missouri who held the Miss Missouri USA title in 2004. Miss Kansas Teen USA Litton grew up in Olathe, Kansas and started competing in pageants in that state. She went unplaced in the Miss Kansas Teen USA 2001 pageant and was a semi-finalist in 2002. Miss Missouri USA After graduating from Olathe South High School in 2001, Litton studied Fashion Design and Product Development at Stephens College in Columbia, Missouri. Leawood, Kansas
Leawood is a city in Johnson County, Kansas, United States, and is part of the Kansas City metropolitan area. As of the 2020 census, the population of the city was 33,902. The Santa Fe Trail which ran through the area also contributed to the development of the area. Miss Missouri USA
The Miss Missouri USA competition is the pageant that selects the representative for the state Missouri in the Miss USA pageant. It is directed by Vanbros and Associates, based in Lenexa, Kansas. In 1993, Missouri joined the Vanbros group of state pageants for the Miss USA and Teen USA system. Missouri has had only one Miss USA, Shandi Finnessey, who placed as 1st runner-up to Jennifer Hawkins of Australia in the Miss Universe 2004 pageant. The most recent placement was Mikala McGhee in 2022, placing Top 16. Three Miss Missouri USAs have competed at Miss America, including Finnessey.
