Daniel Fernández Torres (born April 27, 1964) is a Puerto Rican prelate of the Catholic Church who was the bishop of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Arecibo from 2010 to 2022. He spent the years 2007 to 2010 as an auxiliary bishop of the Archdiocese of San Juan. Fernández was removed as bishop of Arecibo by Pope Francis on March 9, 2021. Daniel Torres González (born October 14, 1977) is a retired Costa Rican footballer. Career Club Torres started his football career with Deportivo Saprissa, making his Primera División debut on 16 February 1996 against Ramonense. With Saprissa, he won several national and international titles between 1996 and 2001. He signed with the Columbus Crew of Major League Soccer on September 8, 2001. In 2002, Torres appeared in 28 matches for the Crew, starting in 25 of them. He appeared in only eight games in 2003 before being transferred to his former team, Deportivo Saprissa, where he spent 2004 helping the club capture its 24th Costa Rican First Division Title. Club career Santa Fe Born in Cáqueza, Cundinamarca, Torres joined Independiente Santa Fe's youth setup in 2005 at the age of 15. Career Torres was born in Chihuahua, Mexico in 1991, the son of Gerardo Torres and Cristy Samaniego. He is a 2010 graduate of COBACH 3 high school and 2015 graduate of the University of the Incarnate Word, where he majored in international business.
