Daniel Rinkert
Daniel Rinkert (born 11 December 1987) is a German politician from the SPD. He became a member of the Bundestag in October 2022, replacing Rainer Keller who died. The Social Democratic Party of Germany (german: Sozialdemokratische Partei Deutschlands, ; SPD, ) is a centre-left social democratic political party in Germany. It is one of the major parties of contemporary Germany. Saskia Esken has been the party's leader since the 2019 leadership election together with Lars Klingbeil, who joined her in December 2021. After Olaf Scholz was elected chancellor in 2021 the SPD became the leading party of the federal government, which the SPD formed with the Greens and the Free Democratic Party, after the 2021 federal election. Rainer Keller
Rainer Keller (4 December 1965 – 22 September 2022) was a German politician from the SPD who served as a Member of the Bundestag from 2021 until his death. Life and politics Keller was born in 1965 in the West German town of Hünxe (back then named 'Drevenack'). In 1991 he did his civilian service as a paramedic in Essen at Arbeiter-Samariter-Bund e.V. He kept on working as a paramedic and did training as a nurse in 1996. Since 1984 he was a member of Jusos and helped organize local events in Wesel. 2017 he started focusing his political work on the SPD. Neuss I is an electoral constituency (German: ''Wahlkreis'') represented in the Bundestag. It elects one member via first-past-the-post voting. Under the current constituency numbering system, it is designated as constituency 108. It is located in western North Rhine-Westphalia, comprising the southeastern part of the district of Rhein-Kreis Neuss. Neuss I was created for the inaugural 1949 federal election. 2017 German Federal Election
Federal elections were held in Germany on 24 September 2017 to elect the members of the 19th Bundestag. At stake were at least 598 seats in the Bundestag, as well as 111 overhang and leveling seats determined thereafter. The Christian Democratic Union of Germany and the Christian Social Union of Bavaria (CDU/CSU), led by incumbent chancellor Angela Merkel, won the highest percentage of the vote with 33%, though it suffered a large swing against it of more than 8%. The Social Democratic Party of Germany (SPD) achieved its worst result since post-war Germany at 21%. Alternative for Germany (AfD), which was previously unrepresented in the Bundestag, became the third party in the Bundestag with 12.6% of the vote, whilst the Free Democratic Party (FDP) won 10.7% of the vote and returned to the Bundestag after losing all their seats in 2013. 2021 German Federal Election
Federal elections were held in Germany on 26 September 2021 to elect the members of the 20th Bundestag. State elections in Berlin and Mecklenburg-Vorpommern were also held. Incumbent chancellor Angela Merkel, first elected in 2005, chose not to run again, marking the first time that an incumbent Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany has not sought re-election. With 25.7% of total votes, the Social Democratic Party of Germany (SPD) recorded their best result since 2005, and emerged as the largest party for the first time since 2002.
