Daniel P. King
Daniel Putnam King (January 8, 1801 – July 25, 1850) was a U.S. Representative from Massachusetts. Early life and education Born in South Danvers, Massachusetts, now Peabody, Massachusetts King pursued classical studies at Phillips Academy, Andover, graduating in 1819. He graduated from Harvard University in 1823 and he also studied law. Business career Although he studied law, King was not a practicing attorney, instead he engaged in agricultural pursuits. Service in the Massachusetts Legislature King served as member of the Massachusetts House of Representatives in 1836 and 1837. King served in the Massachusetts State Senate from 1838 to 1841, and was its President in 1840. King was again a member of the Massachusetts House in 1843 and 1844 and served as Speaker in the latter year. Josiah () or Yoshiyahu was the 16th king of Judah (–609 BCE). According to the Hebrew Bible, he instituted major religious reforms by removing official worship of gods other than Yahweh. Until the 1990s, the biblical description of Josiah’s reforms were usually considered to be more or less accurate, but that is now heavily debated. According to the Bible, Josiah became king of the Kingdom of Judah at the age of eight, after the assassination of his father, King Amon, and reigned for 31 years, from 641/640 to 610/609 BCE. Josiah is known only from biblical texts; no reference to him exists in other surviving texts of the period from ancient Egypt or Babylon, and no clear archaeological evidence, such as inscriptions bearing his name, has ever been found. Myron Lawrence (May 18, 1799 – November 7, 1852) was a Massachusetts lawyer and politician who served in both branches of the Massachusetts General Court and served as the President of the Massachusetts Senate. Early life Lawrence, the son of Benjamin Lawrence, was born in Middlebury, Vermont, on May 18, 1799. Education Lawrence attended Addison County Grammar School. In 1820, he graduated from Middlebury College where, from 1851 to 1852, he was a trustee. Lawrence read law in the office of Hon. Mark Doolittle of Belchertown, Massachusetts. Legal career After reading law and passing the Massachusetts Bar, Lawrence practiced law in Belchertown, Massachusetts, until his death on November 7, 1852.
