Daniel Olin
Daniel Olin (born in Turku, Finland) is a Finland Swedish journalist who has worked at the Finnish public broadcasting company Yle since 2005. Olin will be Svenska Yle's (English: ''Swedish Yle'') news correspondent in the US from the beginning of August 2022. He is known as the host presenter of the talk show tv-program Daniel Olin and as a studio host for the daily TV-program '' TV-Nytt'' (English: ''TV news''). Career Olin grew up in Turku and graduated as a Master of Politics at Åbo Akademi University in 2008. Olin started his career at Yle as a freelancer at Yle Sporten (English: ''Yle Sports''). Olin worked at Yle Åboland 2004–2008 that covers news in the Turku region, and then as a news editor, studio host and producer at ''TV-Nytt''. Turku
Turku ( ; ; sv, Åbo, ) is a city and former capital on the southwest coast of Finland at the mouth of the Aura River, in the region of Finland Proper (''Varsinais-Suomi'') and the former Turku and Pori Province (''Turun ja Porin lääni''; 1634–1997). Finland Swedish or Fenno-Swedish ( sv, finlandssvenska; fi, suomenruotsi) is a general term for the variety of the Swedish language and a closely related group of Swedish dialects spoken in Finland by the Swedish-speaking population, commonly also referred to as Finland Swedes, as their first language. '' Yle Nyheter TV-nytt'' is the name of the daily television news programmes on the Swedish-speaking Finnish TV channel Yle Teema & Fem, at the Finnish Broadcasting Company (Yle). The programme is also broadcast on TV Finland. ''TV-nytt'' first aired on 5 April 1965 as ''Från dag till dag'', broadcasting on either Yle TV1 or TV2 depending on the time and day, and has since provided daily news for the Swedish-speaking population in Finland. TV-nytt adopted its current name in 1975. Ã…bo Akademi University
Ã…bo Akademi University ( sv, Ã…bo Akademi , ) is the only exclusively Swedish language multi-faculty university in Finland (or anywhere outside Sweden). It is located mainly in Turku (Ã…bo is the Swedish name of the city) but has also activities in Vaasa. Ã…bo Akademi should not be confused with the Royal Academy of Ã…bo, which was founded in 1640, but moved to Helsinki after the Turku fire of 1827 and is today known as the University of Helsinki.
