Daniel LaRusso is a fictional character and the main protagonist of ''The Karate Kid (franchise), The Karate Kid'' media franchise portrayed by Ralph Macchio. He was created by American screenwriter Robert Mark Kamen. Daniel is introduced as the titular protagonist of ''The Karate Kid'' (1984) and its sequels, ''The Karate Kid Part II'' (1986) and ''The Karate Kid Part III'' (1989). was an Okinawan martial artist who founded the Gōjū-ryū school of karate by blending Okinawan and Chinese influences. Life Early life and training Sensei Miyagi was born in Higashimachi, Naha, Okinawa on April 25, 1888. One of his parents was a wealthy shop owner.
