Maikel Daniel Costa (born 5 April 1988), known as Daniel Costa, is a Brazilian footballer who plays as an attacking midfielder for Xv de Piracicaba. Career Born in Piracicaba, São Paulo, Daniel Costa was a youth product of hometown side XV de Piracicaba. In 2008, he played for Ituano and América-SP. After representing Botafogo-SP and Taquaritinga during the 2009, Daniel Costa moved to Ponte Preta ahead of the 2010 campaign. After featuring sparingly, he returned to Botafogo for the Série D. After playing for Catanduvense, Comercial-SP, América and Rio Branco-SP, all in his native state, Daniel Costa agreed to join Treze in December 2012. He scored ten goals in the 2013 Campeonato Paraibano, but his side finished second. In November 2013, Daniel Costa moved to CSA. A regular starter, he signed for América de Natal the following 26 March, as a request of manager Oliveira Canindé. Oliveira dos Santos Lopes (born 8 November 1965), better known as Oliveira Canindé, is a Brazilian former professional footballer and manager who played as a defensive midfielder. Player career Futsal player in his hometown, Canindé, Ceará, Oliveira was invited to Ceará SC youth squad in the 80s, adapting to field football as a defensive player. The Campeonato Brasileiro Série D (English: Brazilian Championship Serie D), commonly known as the Série D or the Brazilian Série D to distinguish it from the Italian Serie D, is the fourth division of the Brazilian football league system, and was announced by the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) on 9 April 2008. The Campeonato Brasileiro Série D was formed from the split of the Campeonato Brasileiro Série C, Série C, keeping its best 20 clubs and playing double round robin as does the top three divisions. The Série D keeps the same format of the older Série C, but with participation limited to 40 clubs recognized by the state federation. In 2016 the Série D was expanded to 68 clubs, but in 2022 it was reduced to 64 clubs.
