Dan Barrett is an American musician from Connecticut, New England. He is a member of the rock duo Have a Nice Life. Outside of this, he has released solo work primarily under the names Giles Corey (band), Giles Corey and Black Wing. In 2003, he founded the record label Enemies List Home Recordings. Musical career Have a Nice Life Giles Corey Black Wing Black Wing is the second solo project of Barrett. The music is categorised within electronic music, electronic subgenres, though maintains the gloomy and dark elements of his work as Giles Corey and with Have a Nice Life. Barrett began creating music as Black Wing in 2013, releasing two demos onto Bandcamp: one self-titled and "My Body Betrayed Me". Dan Barrett (born December 14, 1955, in Pasadena, California) is an American arranger, cornetist, and trombonist. The earliest mention of Dan Barrett was in the ''Melody Maker'', 10 February 1973, which reported that he played "Ory's Creole Trombone" at the end of Kid Ory's Funeral on 28 January that year. He also played with Teddy Buckner, Andy Blakeney, and Alton Redd, all members of Ory's band, during the funeral proceedings. Barrett played valve trombone on the soundtrack to the film, ''The Cotton Club'', in 1984. In addition to leading a quintet with Howard Alden, Barrett has performed as a sideman with Benny Goodman and Buck Clayton. Barrett is the musical director for Arbors Records in Clearwater, Florida. Danny Barrett (born December 18, 1961) is an American football coach and former player who is the running backs coach for the Houston Texans of the National Football League (NFL). He served as the interim head coach for the UCF Knights in 2015, and is a former Canadian Football League (CFL) quarterback. He has been the head coach of the CFL's Saskatchewan Roughriders and the running backs coach of the Miami Dolphins. Playing career Before playing professional football with the Calgary Stampeders, Barrett was a star at the University of Cincinnati. In 1982, he co-captained the Bearcats and earned an Honorable Mention Associated Press All-American nomination. During his professional playing career, Barrett played in 163 regular season CFL games with Calgary, Toronto, B.C. and Ottawa. Dan Barrett is a soccer coach who predominantly works in the W-league in Australia. After playing in the Bankstown and Canterbury regions for his youth career, Barrett turned his hand to coaching. He began as a community football officer with Sydney FC before becoming the assistant under Alen Stajcic. When Stajcic took over the job as coach of the Matildas in 2014, Barrett was elevated to the head coaching position. While coach of Sydney, they played in the finals every year, and played in the grand final in 2016, where they lost to Melbourne City. Danny Barrett (born March 23, 1990) is an American rugby player who plays as a forward. He previously played for the U.S. national rugby team, and also played for the U.S. national rugby sevens team. Barrett was in the Men's Eagles Sevens pool for the World Rugby Sevens Series until late 2021. Barrett's strong play during the 2016–17 season landed him one of the seven spots on the 2017 season Dream Team, alongside teammate Perry Baker. C. Daniel Barrett is an attorney, legal author, and North Carolina political figure. Barrett unsuccessfully sought the Republican nomination for governor in the 2004 election. His gubernatorial campaign was noted for its grassroots efforts, including Barrett personally walking across the length of the state from Murphy in the mountains to Manteo on the Outer Banks. Prior to that campaign, he served as Chairman of the Davie County Board of Commissioners.
