Dangerous Money (1924 Film)
''Dangerous Money'' is a 1924 American silent drama film produced by Famous Players–Lasky and distributed by Paramount Pictures. It was directed by Frank Tuttle and starred popular Bebe Daniels. Plot summary Boardinghouse servant Adele Clark is unexpectedly awarded the ownership of a piece of New York City property known as Clark's Field. The trustees send her to a finishing school, whose headmistress, Signorina Vitale, persuades Adele and her sweetheart, Tim Sullivan, that she should travel to Europe. Adele's new riches cause her to lose her sense of proportion, and she soon is involved with a fast set indulging in the jazz life. Even Tim cannot curb Adele's extravagance, and he returns to America while Adele marries Italian fortune-hunter Prince Arnolfo Da Pescia. When a will is discovered naming Tim as the rightful heir to Clark's Field, Adele and Arnolfo hurry to New York, and Arnolfo tries to steal the choice, then dies in a hotel fire. Frank Tuttle
Frank Wright Tuttle (August 6, 1892 – January 6, 1963) was a Cinema of the United States, Hollywood film director and writer who directed films from 1922 (''The Cradle Buster'') to 1959 (''Island of Lost Women''). Lost Film
A lost film is a feature film, feature or short film in which the original negative or copies are not known to exist in any studio archive, private collection, or public archive. Films can be wholly or partially lost for a number of reasons. Early films were not thought to have value beyond their theatrical run, so many were discarded afterward. Nitrate film used in early pictures was highly flammable and susceptible to degradation. The Library of Congress began acquiring copies of American films in 1909, but not all were kept. Due to improvements in film technology and recordkeeping, few films produced in the 1950s or beyond have been lost. Dolores Cassinelli
Dolores Cassinelli (July 4, 1888 – April 26, 1984) was an American film actress and singer. She appeared in 69 films between 1911 and 1925. Born in New York City, Cassinelli and her family moved to Chicago. Her parents put her in a convent with plans for her to become a nun, but she preferred to become an actress. By 1929, Cassinelli had left acting and turned to singing professionally. She said that she would return to films only if she could make a singing film, "for radio is my life now". She is interred at Holy Redeemer Cemetery in South Plainfield, New Jersey.
