Dangerous Davies
Detective Constable "Dangerous" Davies is the central character in a series of comic detective novels by Leslie Thomas and a TV series, ''The Last Detective'' made for ITV and starring Peter Davison. The first novel in the series had earlier been made into a film for television in 1981. It starred Bernard Cribbins and was scripted by Leslie Thomas. Profile Davies is a low-ranked CID (mentioned as a detective constable at least once) officer in the London borough of Willesden. He is nicknamed "Dangerous" ironically because he is said to be harmless. His real first name is never revealed. In the novels and TV series he is called "The Last Detective" from his superior's assessment of him as "the last detective, since he was never dispatched on any assignment unless it was very risky or there was no one else to send". Leslie Thomas
Leslie Thomas, OBE (22 March 1931 – 6 May 2014) was a Welsh author best known for his comic novel ''The Virgin Soldiers''. Early life Thomas was born in Newport, Monmouthshire, Wales. His parents were David James Thomas and Dorothy Hilda Court who married in 1912. He had three brothers. He was orphaned in 1943 at the age of 12, when his mariner/stoker father was lost at sea and his mother died only a few months later from cancer. He was subsequently brought up in a Dr Barnardo's home; the story of this upbringing was the subject of his first, autobiographical, book, ''This Time Next Week''. Thomas attended Kingston Technical School and he then took a course in journalism at South-West Essex Technical College in Walthamstow. In 1949 he was called up for National Service and embarked on a two-year tour of duty in Singapore with the Royal Army Pay Corps. Cindy O'Callaghan
Cindy O'Callaghan (born 18 October 1956) is an Irish-born British psychologist and former actress. Her acting career began in her adolescence, when she was chosen to play the part of Carrie Rawlins in the Disney feature film ''Bedknobs and Broomsticks'' in 1971. She has appeared in a wide range of television programmes and films since, including BBC's ''EastEnders'', where she played Andrea Price for several stints in the 1990s. Her last credited role was in 2001, and she has since given up acting to become a child psychologist. Rob Spendlove
Rob Spendlove (born 1 May 1953) is a British actor best known for his roles on British television. He studied drama at Middlesex Polytechnic, worked as a teacher and toured schools with a fringe theatre company. He has appeared in many television soaps and dramas. He played one of the original characters ''Brookside'', Roger Huntington, the husband of Heather Huntington played by Amanda Burton. Emma Amos (born 18 August 1964 in Newcastle-under-Lyme, Staffordshire) is an English actress. She played Yvonne Sparrow in the last three series and 2016 special of time travel sitcom '' Goodnight Sweetheart'' alongside Nicholas Lyndhurst, replacing original actress Michelle Holmes who held the role from 1993-96. In 1992, she played Sherbet Gravel in Philip Ridley's controversial stage play '' The Fastest Clock in the Universe''. Sean Hughes (10 November 1965 – 16 October 2017) was a British-born Irish comedian, writer and actor. He starred in his own Channel 4 television show '' Sean's Show'' and was one of the regular team captains on the BBC Two musical panel game ''Never Mind the Buzzcocks''. Val Guest (born Valmond Maurice Grossman; 11 December 1911 – 10 May 2006) was an English film director and screenwriter. Beginning as a writer (and later director) of comedy films, he is best known for his work for Hammer Film Productions, Hammer, for whom he directed 14 films, and for his science fiction films. Ken Jones (actor)
Kenneth J Jones (20 February 1930 – 13 February 2014) was an English actor. Jones was born in Liverpool. After working as a signwriter and performing as an amateur, he trained at RADA. Known for his roles as 'Horrible' Ives in ''Porridge'' and as Rex in ''The Squirrels'', he also appeared in '' The Liver Birds'' as Uncle Dermot, in '' Goodnight Sweetheart'' as Owen Jones, and in ''Seconds Out'' as Dave Locket.
