Danei District
Danei District () is a District (Taiwan), rural district of about 8,948 residents in Tainan, Taiwan. History Formerly home to the Tevorangh Taiwanese Plains Aborigines, a branch of the Siraya people (Baccloangh subtribe). In 1920, the area was designated , , Tainan Prefecture. After the History of Taiwan since 1945, handover of Taiwan from Japan to the Republic of China in 1945, Danei was organized as a Township (Taiwan), rural township of Tainan County. On 25 December 2010, Tainan County merged with Tainan City and Danei was upgraded to a District (Taiwan), district of the Special municipality (Taiwan), city. District (Taiwan)
Districts are administrative subdivisions of Taiwan's Special municipality (Taiwan), special municipalities of the second level and Provincial city (Taiwan), provincial cities of the third level formerly under its provinces. There are two types of district in the administrative scheme: Ordinary districts are governed directly by the municipality/city government, with district administrators appointed by mayors to four-year terms. The mountain indigenous district is a local government body with elected district chiefs as well as district council serving four-year terms. Special Municipality (Taiwan)
Special municipality, historically known as Yuan-controlled municipality, is a first-level administrative division unit in Taiwan. It is the highest level of the country's administrative structure and is equivalent to a province. After the suspension of the provincial governments of 2018, the special municipalities along with provincial cities and counties have all governed directly under the central government. Currently total six cities are designated as special municipalities: Taipei, Taoyuan, New Taipei, Taichung, Tainan, and Kaohsiung, all located in the most densely populated regions in the western half of the island. Tsou Ma Lai Farm
The Tsou Ma Lai Farm () is a recreational farm in Danei District, Tainan, Taiwan. History The area of the farm used to be the home for the Siraya people. Geology The farm is surrounded by the Zengwun River within the Alishan Range and spreads over an area of 120 hectares. It is divided into three main areas, which are the main recreational area, orchard recreational area and the pasture recreational area. The farm consists of more than 150 species of animal. Tainan (), officially Tainan City, is a Special municipality (Taiwan), special municipality in southern Taiwan, facing the Taiwan Strait on its western coast. Tainan Astronomical Education Area
The Tainan Astronomical Education Area (TAEA; ) is an educational center in Quxi Village, Danei District, Tainan, Taiwan. History In 2002, Danei Township was selected as the site to construct the building. Being the first phase of the construction, the observatory was constructed starting 2004 and completed on 11 August 2006. It was then opened for use on 1 January 2007. The main construction was completed in 2012. It started its trial operation on 1 February 2013 and was officially opened on 29 June 2013. Architecture Located at an elevation of 110 meters above sea level, the complex consists of observatory, astronomy museum and planetarium. It features a 76 cm telescope, the largest telescope on ground level in Taiwan. Tainan County was a County (Taiwan), county in southern Taiwan between 1945 and 2010. The county seat was in Xinying District, Sinying City. History Tainan County was established on 7 January 1946 on the territory of Tainan Prefecture () shortly after the end of World War II. In the early years, Tainan County consists of most territory of Tainan Prefecture except the territory near cities of Tainan and Kagi (Chiayi). Townships are the third-level administrative subdivisions of County (Taiwan), counties of the Taiwan, Republic of China (Taiwan), along with County-administered city, county-administered cities.
