Dane Baptiste Questions Everything
Dane Baptiste (born 3 September 1981) is a British stand-up comedian, writer and presenter. He was the first Black British act to be nominated for the "Best Newcomer" award at 2014's Edinburgh Comedy Awards and his comedy series ''Sunny D'' premiered on BBC Three in Spring 2016. He has made numerous TV and radio appearances, and hosts his own podcast ''Dane Baptiste Questions Everything''. In January 2021, Baptiste's comedy pilot ''Bamous'' launched on BBC Three / BBC One. Early life Baptiste is from Hither Green, South East London. He attended Haberdashers' Hatcham College in New Cross, and then achieved a degree in business at Bradford University. He worked in media sales before becoming a comedian. Stand up career Baptiste started performing stand-up comedy in 2012. ''Live at the Apollo'' (formerly titled ''Jack Dee Live at the Apollo'') is a British stand-up comedy programme performed from the Hammersmith Apollo. The programmes are recorded, not broadcast live, but the acts perform in front of a live audience. Jack Dee hosted the first two series and the opening show of the third series, performing a short segment before introducing a guest comedian. Until 2015, all episodes were broadcast on BBC One. The show moved to BBC Two in November 2015. The programme was renamed for its third series which was filmed over three evenings in October 2007. ''The Big Night In'' is a British telethon that was broadcast by BBC One from 7pm to 10pm on 23 April 2020 to support those affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. It is the first joint initiative between two BBC telethon charities, Children in Need and Comic Relief. By the end of the programme, over £27.3 million had been raised. ''Richard Osman's House of Games'' is a British quiz show hosted by Richard Osman and produced by Banijay UK Productions subsidiary Remarkable Entertainment for the BBC. The show is played on a weekly basis, with four celebrities playing on five consecutive days to win daily prizes, and the weekly prize of being crowned as "House of Games" champion. Points are accrued depending on where each celebrity finishes on each day and the points are doubled on Friday's show.
