''Dancing on Ice'' is a British made dance competition television series franchise produced around the world. The format, devised by London Weekend Television and Granada Television for ITV, has been a prime-time hit in eight countries, including Britain and subsequently in Italy and Chile. In Australia, where it was titled ''Torvill and Dean's Dancing on Ice'', it was axed after just one series owing to production costs. London Weekend Television
London Weekend Television (LWT; now part of the non-franchised ITV London region) was the ITV (TV network), ITV network franchise holder for Greater London and the Home Counties at weekends, broadcasting from Fridays at 5.15 pm (7:00 pm from 1968 until 1982) to Monday mornings at 6:00. From 1968 until 1992, when LWT's weekday counterpart was Thames Television, there was an on-screen handover to LWT on Friday nights (there was no handover back to Thames on Mondays, as from 1968 to 1982 there was no programming in the very early morning, and from 1983, when a national breakfast franchise was created, LWT would hand over to TV-am at 6:00am, which would then hand over to Thames at 9:25am). Maria Filippov (born 20 June 1973 as Maria Hadjiiska) () is a Bulgarian professional ice skater and former competitor. Career As Maria Hadjiiska, she was a member of the Bulgarian national ice dancing team from 1988 to 1992 and her country's national ice dance champion in 1990–1991. Belinda Noonan, née Coulthard (born in 1957) is an Australian former competitive figure skater. Competing in ladies' singles, she won silver at the 1977 Golden Spin of Zagreb, bronze at a 1978 competition in Heerenveen, and the Australian national title during the 1979–1980 season.
