Danbury High School is a public high school in Danbury, Connecticut, with almost 4000 students. It is part of the Danbury Public Schools district. Despite Danbury's population of 86,518 (as of 2020), there is only one public high school, along with several small private schools, and one vocational high school in the city. The school is located in a suburban, residential neighborhood atop a hill that overlooks most of the city. It is the largest high school in the state of Connecticut. Danbury High School is supplemented by a magnet program called the Alternative Center for Excellence. This program provides a Danbury High School diploma but exhibits additional criteria not required by most local institutions. Westside Middle School Academy
Westside Middle School Academy is a middle school located in the city of Danbury, Connecticut, United States. The school has approximately between 715 and 750 students from grade 6 to grade 8. The school offers various sports for all grades such as basketball and soccer as well as track and field. There is also a band and engineering program. The school also has an official health center. After graduation, students move on to Danbury High School, Henry Abbott Technical High School and other options. Alternative Center For Excellence
The Joseph W. Pepin Memorial Building formally known as Alternative Center for Excellence (ACE) and the Alternative Center for Education, is located in the former Locust Avenue School at 26 Locust Avenue in Danbury, Connecticut, United States. It is an alternative high school within Danbury Public Schools, meant for at-risk students. The building itself, a brick Romanesque Revival structure, was designed by architect Warren R. Briggs in 1896, and later featured in his book ''Modern American School Buildings''. and For many years it was an elementary school, and a laboratory school where recent graduates of the state's teacher training schools were sent to hone their skills with actual students before going to their ultimate teaching jobs.
