Dana Pagett
Dana P. Pagett (born March 29, 1949) is an American retired professional basketball player who spent one season in the American Basketball Association (ABA) as a member of the Virginia Squires during the 1971–72 season. He attended University of Southern California where he was drafted by the Philadelphia 76ers during the eleventh round of the 1971 NBA draft. After that season he signed with the Portland Trail Blazers, but was released before the start of the 1972–73 National Basketball Association (NBA) season. He was an assistant coach for the Loyola Marymount Lions, Long Beach State 49ers and Utah State Aggies men's basketball teams. Virginia Squires
The Virginia Squires were a basketball team based in Norfolk, Virginia, and playing in several other Virginia cities. They were members of the American Basketball Association from 1970 to 1976. The team originated in 1967 as the Oakland Oaks, an ABA charter franchise based in Oakland, California. They moved to Washington, D.C. as the Washington Caps in 1969 but moved to Norfolk the following year, becoming the Squires. As a regional team, they played home games in Richmond, Virginia, Richmond, Hampton, Virginia, Hampton, and Roanoke, Virginia, Roanoke as well as a season with Norfolk, Virginia, Norfolk. The Long Beach State Beach men's basketball team represents California State University, Long Beach in Long Beach, California. The school's team competes in the Big West Conference. Because they won the 2024 Big West Conference men's basketball tournament, the team received an automatic bid to the 2024 NCAA Division I men's basketball tournament; the last time Long Beach State competed in this tournament was 2012.
