Dan Chmielinski
Dan Chmielinski, also known as "Chimy" (''shim'-ee''), (born December 28, 1993) is an American jazz bassist, synthesist and composer. Biography Early life Raised in Glenview, Illinois, Chmielinski began playing bass at age three, initially utilizing a toddler-sized acoustic bass his parents created using a half-size cello with bass guitar strings. He attended Glenbrook South High School in Glenview, Illinois. He completed both undergraduate and graduate studies in music at the Juilliard School in New York City. Musical career He has worked extensively as a member of pianist Joey Alexander's trio alongside drummer Ulysses Owens and was featured on Alexander's second album ''Countdown'', released in September 2016. Joey Alexander
Josiah Alexander Sila (born 25 June 2003), known professionally as Joey Alexander, is an Indonesian jazz pianist. He became the first Indonesian musician to chart on ''Billboard'' 200 when his album ''My Favorite Things'' debuted at number 174 and then peaked at 59. Widely regarded as a wunderkind, Alexander taught himself to play jazz at the age of six by listening to his father's classic jazz albums. He won the Grand Prix at the 2013 Master-Jam Fest when he was nine. In 2014, Wynton Marsalis invited him to play at Jazz at Lincoln Center. His first album, ''My Favorite Things'', was released in 2015 when he was 11 years old. Eric Harland
Eric Harland (born November 8, 1976; in Houston, Texas) is an American jazz drummer. In addition to leading his own group, Harland is a member of Charles Lloyd's Quartet, Dave Holland's Prism, James Farm with Joshua Redman, and Taylor Eigsti's Trio. He has also been a member of McCoy Tyner's Quartet, Kurt Rosenwinkel's Standards Trio, Aaron Goldberg's Trio, Julian Lage's Trio, Chris Potter's Trio, and Terence Blanchard's Quintet, among other groups. He was a member of the SFJAZZ Collective from 2005 to 2012. EWI (musical Instrument)
EWI (from electronic wind instrument, pronounced ''EE-wee'') is a type of wind controller, an electronic musical instrument. The EWI was invented by Nyle Steiner, his second electronic wind instrument design. Steiner originally brought to market a brass style fingering analogue wind synthesizer instrument known as the EVI in the 1970s. Steiner then went on to develop the EWI which had a unique fingering system closer to the woodwind style. These instrument designs first working models appeared in the 1970s, with the EWI appearing commercially during the early 1980s. The early models of EWI and EVI consisted of two parts: a wind controller and a digitally-controlled analog synthesizer in a rackmount box (which also houses the instrument's electronics). Akai took over the EVI and EWI instruments from Steiner and released several models with his help. Bryan Carter (born July 11, 1990 in St. Louis, Missouri) is an American drummer, vocalist, composer, arranger, orchestrator and bandleader. Early life and education Bryan Carter was born in St. Louis, Missouri. He was introduced to the drums by his father at the age of two.
