Dan Antopolski
Dan Antopolski (born 22 August 1972) is a British comic, actor and writer. He has appeared in various television programs and radio shows, and is best known to younger audiences for hosting the UK game show ''The Dare Devil''. In 1998 Antopolski won the BBC New Comedy Award and in 2009 he won the Dave Award for Best Joke at the 2009 Edinburgh Festival Fringe. He has appeared at international comedy festivals in Montreal, Melbourne and New York. Antopolski has been a regular performer at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, had minor roles in films and appeared in a number of panel shows. Style Antopolski's comedy style has been described as surreal and ironic. He was described in a 2008 review as "a natural heir to Bill Bailey". Observational Comedy
Observational comedy is a form of humor based on the commonplace aspects of everyday life. It is one of the main types of humor in stand-up comedy. In an observational comedy act, the comedian makes an observation about something which is common enough to be familiar to their audience, but not commonly discussed. Such observations are typically presented with the phrase "Have you ever noticed...?" or "Did you ever notice...?" which has become a comedy cliché. Analysis British comedians Richard Herring and Jo Caulfield wrote in an article that observational comedy relies upon the fact that the observation is "universally familiar" but that it "won't necessarily have been consciously noted by your audience", arguing that the statements can be neither too obvious nor too obscure. Similarly, Eddie Izzard noted that a comedian's observations need to be relatable in order to be successful. ''Live Floor Show'' is a television comedy show produced by BBC Scotland for three series from 2002–2003. The first two series, hosted by Greg Hemphill, were broadcast on BBC One Scotland. The third series, hosted by Dara Ó Briain, was shown on BBC Two. The programme featured a number of regular acts on one of the three stages at the Queen Margaret Drive studios in Glasgow: Frankie Boyle, Al Murray, Craig Hill, Paul Sneddon, Miles Jupp, and Jim Muir. Sketchorama was a radio show, a product of The Comedy Unit, commissioned by the BBC for Radio 4. It featured a rotating cast of comedic sketch groups who performed in front of a live audience. The groups were introduced by a host comedian, originally Humphrey Ker, then Thom Tuck. The show stopped airing in 2015 after its fourth season. The British Comedy Guide describes it as "a format for Radio 4 which offers the same popular showcase dynamic as stand-up shows, but purely for comedy sketch groups.
