Dampier County
Dampier County is one of the 141 cadastral divisions of New South Wales. The Deua River is the northern boundary, with land slightly to the north of the Brogo River the southern boundary. It includes Bermagui, Narooma, Bodalla, and most of the Deua National Park and Wadbilliga National Park. Dampier County was named in honour of seaman William Dampier (1651–1715). Dampier Peninsula
The Dampier Peninsula is a peninsula located north of Broome, Western Australia, Broome and Roebuck Bay in the Kimberley (Western Australia), Kimberley region of Western Australia, named after the mariner and explorer William Dampier who visited it. It is surrounded by the Indian Ocean to the west and north, and King Sound to the east. The northernmost part of the peninsula is Cape Leveque. It is sparsely inhabited, mostly by Indigenous Australian peoples, some of whom have been granted native title rights to some of their traditional lands. There are many coastal inlets, bays, and other features, including Beagle Bay on its western side. Dampier, Western Australia
Dampier is a major industrial port in the Pilbara region in the northwest of Western Australia. It is located near the city of Karratha and Port Walcott. Dampier Port is part of the Dampier Archipelago and is primarily a port for the export of iron ore from Rio Tinto mines, LNG and salt. The port services petrochemical, salt, iron ore and natural gas export industries. Rio Tinto exports large volumes of iron ore, especially Pilbara blend through the port, and in September 2010 announced plans to expand capacity.
