Damnum (album)
''Damnum'' is the sixth studio album by American death metal band Allegaeon. It is the bands first release to feature Jeff Saltzman on drums, and the last to feature vocalist Riley McShane. The record charted at No. 100 on the Billboard Top Album Sales charts. Loudwire named the album among the top 50 best rock and metal albums of 2022. Background On April 14, 2021, Allegaeon announced that former Aversed drummer Jeff Saltzman would be joining the band to replace Brandon Park, who had departed in 2020. Guitarist Greg Burgess noted the upcoming album would be the first record on which the drummer had written all their parts, where in the past the guitarists had programmed a beat and had their drummer write-out the fills. Allegaeon is an American death metal band from Fort Collins, Colorado, formed in 2008. They have released one EP and seven studio albums, and are currently signed to Metal Blade Records. History Allegaeon was formed in 2007. They initially played small shows at bars and houses in and around Fort Collins. In August 2008, they independently released a self-titled EP. Katatonia
Katatonia is a Swedish Heavy metal music, heavy metal band formed in Stockholm in 1991 by Jonas Renkse and Anders Nyström. The band started as a studio-only project for the duo, as an outlet for their love of death metal. Increasing popularity led them to add more band members for live performances, though outside of the band's founders, the lineup was a constantly changing, revolving door of musicians throughout the 1990s, notably including Mikael Åkerfeldt of Opeth for a period. After two death/doom albums, ''Dance of December Souls'' (1993) and ''Brave Murder Day'' (1996), problems with Renkse's vocal cords coupled with new musical influences caused the band to stray away from the screamed vocals of death metal to a more traditional melodic form of progressive rock. Archspire is a Canadian technical death metal band from Vancouver. They have released four studio albums under record label Season of Mist. However, only three of these can be found officially released on streaming services; it is debated whether this is because of the band's personal distaste for the album or due to a struggle over rights with the debut's record label, Trendkill Records.
