Damian Carroll
Damian Carroll (born 15 September 1972) is an Australian rules football coach who is the Head of Development and Learning at St Kilda Football Club. He was previously Collingwood Football Club's Head of Academy. He has also served as the head coach of Victorian Football League club Box Hill Hawks Football Club, Box Hill from 2011 to 2013, guiding the club to the VFL Premiership in his third season in charge, before going on to serve as an assistant coach with Hawthorn Football Club, Hawthorn. Playing career Carroll played as a midfielder for the Casey Scorpions, Springvale Football Club, accruing 233 appearances. Prior to playing for Springvale, Carroll played for the Melbourne Football Club's under 19 team and St Kilda Football Club, St Kilda's reserves team. Australian Rules Football Positions
In the sport of Australian rules football, each of the eighteen players in a team is assigned to a particular named position on the field of play. These positions describe both the player's main role and by implication their location on the ground. As the game has evolved, tactics and team formations have changed, and the names of the positions and the duties involved have evolved too. There are 18 positions in Australian rules football, not including four (sometimes 6–8) interchange players who may replace another player on the ground at any time during play. The fluid nature of the modern game means the positions in football are not as formally defined as in sports such as rugby or American football. Even so, most players will play in a limited range of positions throughout their career, as each position requires a particular set of skills. Woodville-West Torrens Football Club
Woodville-West Torrens Football Club is an Australian rules football club playing in the South Australian National Football League (SANFL). It was formed in 1990 from an amalgamation of the neighbouring Woodville and West Torrens football clubs and played its inaugural game in 1991. Fitzroy Football Club
The Fitzroy Football Club is an Australian rules football club currently competing in the Victorian Amateur Football Association (VAFA). Formed in 1883 to represent the inner-Melbourne municipality of Fitzroy, the club was a member of the Victorian Football Association (VFA), before becoming a foundation member of the breakaway Victorian Football League (VFL/AFL) in 1897. Fitzroy won a total of eight VFL premierships, of which seven (1898, 1899, 1904, 1905, 1913, 1916 and 1922) were won whilst they were nicknamed the Maroons and one (1944) as the Gorillas. Northern Knights
The Northern Knights is an Australian rules football club playing in the NAB League, the top statewide under-18 competition in Victoria, Australia. They are based in Preston, representing the northern suburban area of Melbourne. The Knights are one of the six original clubs set up as part of a plan by the Victorian State Football League to replace the traditional club zones with independent junior clubs.
