Oluwadamilola Bakare known as Dami Bakare (born 22 September 1988) is a British volleyball player. Born in Kaduna, Nigeria, he competed for Great Britain in the men's tournament at the 2012 Summer Olympics. Early life Born in Nigeria, Bakara moved to London at the age of one. Bakare began playing volleyball in school after originally playing basketball. Career He progressed through Great Britain's men's development squad and later played internationally at the London International Invitational Tournament, part of the London Prepares series, where he was the competition's top scorer. He played professionally with Belgian club VC Argex Duvel Puurs VC Argex Duvel Puurs is a Belgian volleyball club from Puurs, Belgium. Dami Im ( , , ; born October 17, 1988) is a South Korean-born Australian singer and songwriter. She represented Australia at the Eurovision Song Contest 2016 held in Stockholm, Sweden with the song " Sound of Silence", placing second and achieving the highest Eurovision Song Contest score for Australia. Im emigrated to Australia from South Korea with her family at the age of nine. She won the fifth season of '' The X Factor Australia'' and subsequently received a recording contract with Sony Music Australia. In 2020 she left Sony Music and signed with ABC Music. Elisabetta Maria Dami (born 1 January 1958) is an Italian children's book author who is famous for being the creator of the character ''Geronimo Stilton''. Biography Dami is the daughter of publisher Piero Dami (who founded Dami Editore in 1972). At the age of thirteen she started out in the publishing world as a proofreader for the family business and at nineteen she wrote her first short stories. As an adventure lover, she got her aircraft pilot and parachutist licenses aged 20, and at 23 she traveled around the world on her own and completed a famous survival course at the Outward Bound School in Maine, in the United States. Some of Dami's other adventures include taking part in a rally in the Sahara desert and crossing Africa from north to south in an off-road vehicle; she raced the 100-km Sahara ultramarathon and ran three New York marathons (in 2002, 2003, and 2017).
