Damen Station (CTA Green Line)
Damen is a rapid transit station on the Chicago "L"'s Green Line (CTA), Green Line that opened on August 5, 2024. A station existed at this location from 1893 to 1948; opened as Robey in 1893, it was one of the original stations on what was then known as the Lake Street Elevated. The removal of the old station created a gap between the remaining stations. As the surrounding neighborhood saw an increase in new developments, the need for a replacement station grew. The station provides closer access to the United Center sports arena. History Original station (1893–1948) The Lake Street Elevated Railway Company was incorporated on February 7, 1888. Cermak–McCormick Place Station
Cermak–McCormick Place is an "L" station on the CTA's Green Line. The station, designed by Chicago-based Ross Barney Architects and engineered by Primary Consultant T.Y. Lin International, is located at Cermak Road and State Street on the Near South Side of Chicago. The station includes three entrances – one on each side of Cermak Road and one at 23rd Street. The main station entrance is built on the north side of Cermak road. The new station replaced the original Cermak station that opened on June 6, 1892, closed on September 9, 1977, and was demolished in 1978. Clinton is a station on the Chicago Transit Authority's 'L' system, serving the Green Line and Pink Line. It opened on October 16, 1909, and was completely rebuilt during the Green Line rehabilitation project in 1996. Morgan Station
Morgan is a rapid transit station on the Chicago "L"'s Green Line (CTA), Green and Pink Line (CTA), Pink Lines in Chicago's Near West Side, Chicago, Near West Side neighborhood. The current station opened at this location in 2012, where a previous station stood from 1893 to 1949. The original station on this site opened with the Lake Street Elevated in November 1893 and closed due to low ridership in April 1948 before being demolished early the following year. Lake Street Transfer Station
The Lake Street Transfer station was a rapid transit station on the Chicago "L", serving as a Interchange station, transfer station between its Lake Street Elevated Railroad and the Logan Square branch of its Metropolitan West Side Elevated Railroad. Located where the Logan Square branch crossed over the Lake Street Elevated, it was in service from 1913 to 1951, when it was rendered obsolete by the opening of the Dearborn Street subway. Adaptive reuse is the reuse of an existing building for a purpose other than that for which it was originally built or designed. It is also known as recycling and conversion.
