Dallas Diamonds
The Dallas Diamonds was a women's professional American football team in the Women's Football Alliance (WFA). The Diamonds were made up of 46 players and a coaching staff of 10. The Diamonds won four national championships; the first three were all obtained during their membership in the Women's Professional Football League (WPFL) which was dissolved in 2008, and the fourth was in their first season in the Independent Women's Football League. History The Diamonds franchise started in 2002 by owner Dawn Berndt. During the inaugural season, the Diamonds finished with a 5–5 record. The following season, the Diamonds improved to 8-2 and entered the playoffs as a wild card team. They lost on their home field, Birdville Fine Arts Complex, to the Florida Stingrays who moved on to lose in the championship game. Women's Professional Football League
The Women's Professional American Football League (WPFL) was a women's professional American football league in the United States. With teams across the United States, the WPFL had its first game in 1999 with just two original teams: the Lake Michigan Minx and the Minnesota Vixens. Fifteen teams nationwide competed for the championship in 2006. Unlike the other women's American football franchises, the WPFL operated as a fall league and not a spring league. Chicago Force
The Chicago Force was a women's American football team. Founded in 2003 by Lisa Cole, the team played at De La Salle HS & St. Rita HS – both on Chicago's South side; Lane Stadium at Lane Technical College Prep High School, Holmgren Athletic Complex at North Park University on Chicago's North Side, and at Jorndt Field, commonly known as Winnemac Stadium. The team played the 2012–2014 seasons at Lazier Field on the campus of Evanston Township High School, and for the 2015 season onward, back at Lane Tech. From their inaugural season until 2010, the Chicago Force was part of the Independent Women's Football League. Following that, the team moved to the Women's Football Alliance. Seattle Majestics
The Seattle Majestics are a women's American football team based in Seattle, Washington. The Seattle Majestics play in the WNFC. Home games are played at French Field on the campus of Kent Meridian High School in Kent, Washington. The team began as the Tacoma Majestics in 2002 before moving to Seattle in 2006 and merging with the former Women's American Football League franchise, the Seattle Warbirds. The franchise is currently owned by Scott McCarron. Sponsorships and fundraising under the team's non-profit 501c3 status provide finances for the team, but players also have to contribute. The Seattle Majestics have won the WFA's Pacific Northwest Division title four times, 2013, 2014, 2015, and 2016. The California Quake was a women's professional tackle football team based in Los Angeles County, California. The Quake played for 13 seasons in the Western Conference of the Independent Women's Football League. Home games were played at Carson High School. The 2008 season brought new ownership to the Quake; now owned by longtime veteran player, Catherine B. Vivo. During the California Quake vs New Mexico Menace game on May 24, 2008, kicker Sarah "Ollie" Oliver broke a women's tackle football record by successfully kicking a 44-yard field goal. The So Cal Scorpions were a semi-pro women's American football team based in San Diego, California. The Florida Stingrays are a semi-professional football team out of Fort Myers, Florida that was established in 2007 in the American Indoor Football Association and United Football Federation of America. They were once a 2008 expansion team of the American Indoor Football Association, where they played their home games at the Lee County Civic Center.
