Dale Walters
Dale Walters (born September 27, 1963) is a retired Canadian boxer and former child actor. During his boxing career, he won a bantamweight bronze medal at the 1984 Summer Olympics. Acting career Walters appeared as a child actor in several Canadian television series in the late 1970s and early 1980s. He attended Burnaby Central Secondary school alongside Michael J. Fox, who subsequently moved to Los Angeles to pursue his acting career. Walters had prominent roles in ''Huckleberry Finn and His Friends'' (1979) and ''Ritter's Cove'' (1980). He returned to some other minor acting roles after his Olympic Games appearance in 1984 (see below). Junior amateur boxing One of the more important junior international tournaments that Walters engaged in took place on June 6, 1976, in Victoria, BC, hosted by the London Boxing Club. Port Alice, British Columbia
Port Alice is a village of approximately 739 (2021 census) located on Neroutsos Inlet, southwest of Port McNeill, on Vancouver Island, originally built by Whalen Pulp and Paper Mills of Vancouver. The community is known for its natural environment, pulp mill, and salt water fishing. History It was named after Alice Whalen, the founders' mother. The brothers Whalen began their construction of the mill at its present site in 1917, with first pulp produced in 1918. The mill at Swanson Bay, on the Inside Passage farther north, was also a Whalen operation. Port Alice bears a resemblance to Port Annie, the fictional town described by Vancouver Island author Jack Hodgins in his novel ''The Resurrection of Joseph Bourne''. Héctor López (boxer)
Héctor López Colín (February 1, 1967 – October 24, 2011) was a Mexican professional boxer. He challenged for the WBC lightweight title in 1993 and the WBO light welterweight title twice between 1995 and 1999. At regional level he held the WBC- NABF light welterweight title twice between 1992 and 1993, and the WBO- NABO light welterweight title between 1996 and 1997. As an amateur he represented Mexico at the 1984 Olympics, winning a silver medal in the bantamweight division. Amateur career López, who was born in Mexico City, was a Mexican National Amateur Champion. During the 1984 Summer Olympics he won the Bantamweight Silver Medal, at seventeen years old Héctor was the youngest boxer in the whole Olympics.
