Dale Shaw
Dale Shaw (born April 9, 1964) is an American former stock car racing driver. Shaw competed in 45 NASCAR Xfinity Series races between 1987 and 1999, achieving 9 top ten finishes. He also competed in 270 ARCA Menards Series East races between 1987 and 2005, winning 19 races and reaching the top ten 139 times. He also won the series' 1994 title, doing so without winning a single race, making him the only driver to do so in NASCAR history (at the time he won the title, the series was known as the Busch East Series) until Austin Dillon won the then-Nationwide Series title in 2013. The Daytona 300, currently known for sponsorship reasons as the United Rentals 300, is the first race of the NASCAR Xfinity Series season, held at Daytona International Speedway. It is held the day before the Daytona 500, and is considered the most prestigious event of the Xfinity Series. The BetMGM 300 is an annual 300-mile (482.803 km) NASCAR Xfinity Series race held at the Charlotte Motor Speedway in Concord, North Carolina during Memorial Day weekend as a support race for the Coca-Cola 600. History The race's origins trace back to 1978, when a it was a NASCAR Late Model Sportsman Series race was held the day before the World 600. In 1982 it became a Busch Series race. The race celebrated its 40th running in 2018, and is considered one of the more popular races on the Xfinity Series schedule. From its inception through 2004, the race was scheduled for Saturday afternoon. In 1985 only, it was held the same day as The Winston. Busch 200 (South Boston)
South Boston Speedway, or "SoBo", is a short track located just outside South Boston, Virginia. SoBo is located approximately east of another area familiar to most NASCAR fans, Martinsville. It is owned by Mattco, Inc., the Mattioli family trust that owns Pocono Raceway, with general manager Brandon Brown operating the track, replacing Cathy Rice who retired in 2021 after serving in that role for 21 years and Chase Brashears who was in the role for two years. NASCAR's three national series have raced at the track, though the Cup Series has not done so since 1971, while the Busch Series last raced there in 2000. After the Busch Series left the schedule, the Craftsman Truck Series competed at SoBo for a few years between 2001 and 2003. The SRX Series visited the track in 2022. Dixie Cup 200
Stock car racing events in the NASCAR Xfinity Series has been held at Darlington Raceway in Darlington, South Carolina since the series' inaugural season in 1982. Initially only one race was held, but starting in 1984 the track hosted two races per year until 2004 when the track lost its fall weekend date as a result of the realignments caused by the Ferko lawsuit. A realignment in 2015 moved the spring race to the pre-Ferko fall slot. The emergency schedule realignment for 2020 resulted in Darlington regaining its second Xfinity date, which became permanent starting from 2021. The track is scheduled to downscale to just one race in 2025.
