Daisy Chainsaw
Daisy Chainsaw were an English rock music, rock band from London, England, formed in 1989. The band was founded by vocalist KatieJane Garside and guitarist Crispin Gray. Garside appeared on the band's early extended play, EPs and 1992 debut album, ''Eleventeen (album), Eleventeen'', until her departure in 1993. Belinda Leith replaced Garside as vocalist for the band's final album, For ''They Know Not What They Do'', released in 1994, before dissolving in 1995. Career The band formed in 1989 after KatieJane Garside answered an advertisement placed by guitarist Crispin Gray in the music press. Their concert, gigs included grapevines and rag dolls strewn across the stage, and Garside thrashing around in soiled gowns drinking juice from a baby bottle. ''Eleventeen'' is the debut album by UK alternative rock band Daisy Chainsaw, released in 1992. It was their only album with Katie Jane Garside as lead vocalist. It peaked the UK Albums Chart at No. 62. Three songs from the album were released as singles. 'Love Your Money' was the biggest hit, reaching No. 26 in the UK Singles Chart, while follow-up 'Pink Flower' was a UK No. 65. In 2014 Buzzsaw Records announced a double CD special edition of ''Eleventeen'', which is available on daisychainsaw.net. ''The Word'' was a Channel 4 variety show in the United Kingdom that aired from 1990 to 1995. Format The show's presenters included Terry Christian, comedian Mark Lamarr, Dani Behr, Katie Puckrik, Jasmine Dotiwala, Alan Connor, Amanda de Cadenet and Huffty. Originally broadcast in the old ''Tube'' time slot of 6 pm Friday evenings, ''The Words main live show was shifted to a late-night timeslot from 9 November 1990. The magazine format allowed for interviews, live music, features and even game shows. The flexible late-night format meant that guests could do just about anything to be controversial.
