It was published three times a week by Arthur Leslie Bourcicault. The editor was William Herbert Robison. From 1 January 1875, it was published as the ''Daily Northern Argus''. It was published daily by Arthur Leslie Bourcicault. The editor was Francis Hodgson Nixon. From 2 January 1897, it was merged with the ''Record (Rockhampton), Record'' and was published as the ''Daily Record''. From 31 July 1922, it was published as ''The Evening News''. ''Hickory Daily Record'' is an American, English language daily newspaper based in Hickory, North Carolina, US. It is owned by Lee Enterprises. The newspaper is a member of the North Carolina Press Association. The newspaper serves the city of Hickory along with Catawba County and Burke, as well as the neighboring Alexander and Caldwell counties. In 2019, the circulation was 9,372 (weekend) and 7,853 (daily). Starting June 6, 2023, the print edition of the newspaper will be reduced to three days a week: Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. Alexander Lightfoot Manly (May 13, 1866 – October 5, 1944) was an American newspaper owner and editor who lived in Wilmington, North Carolina. With his brother, Frank G. Manly, as co-owner, he published the '' Daily Record'', the state's only daily African-American newspaper and possibly the nation's only black-owned daily newspaper. At the time, the port of Wilmington had 10,000 residents and was the state's largest city; its population was majority black, with a rising middle class. In August 1898 Manly published a editorial objecting to lynchings and rejected stereotypes of black men as rapists of white women. He had earlier responded to a Rebecca Latimer Felton in Georgia who wrote about African-American males having relationships with white women. ''The Daily Record'' is an American daily newspaper published in Ellensburg, Washington. The ''Record'' is published four days a week with an afternoon edition each Tuesday through Thursday and a weekend edition is delivered on Saturday mornings. It has a circulation of 2,619. History This newspaper is a successor to the ''Kittitas County Localizer'', first published on July 12, 1883. After the official founding of the town of Ellensburg, that paper became the ''Ellensburg Localizer''. On July 1, 1909, the paper, now under the ownership of William S. Zimmerman and J.C.
