The ''Daily Bugle'' (at one time ''The DB!'') is a fictional New York City tabloid newspaper appearing as a plot element in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. The ''Daily Bugle'' is a regular fixture in the Marvel Universe, most prominently in Spider-Man comic titles and their derivative media. The newspaper first appeared in the Human Torch story in '' Marvel Mystery Comics'' #18 (April 1941). It returned in ''Fantastic Four'' #2 (January 1962), and its offices were first depicted in ''The Amazing Spider-Man'' #1 (March 1963). The ''Daily Bugle'' was first featured on film in the 2002 film ''Spider-Man''. The fictional newspaper is meant to be a pastiche of both the New York '' Daily News'' and the ''New York Post'', two popular real-life New York City tabloids. Benjamin "Ben" Urich () is a fictional character appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics, usually as a supporting character in stories featuring Daredevil (Marvel Comics character), Daredevil and Spider-Man. Urich is a investigative journalism, investigative journalist for the New York City, New York newspaper ''The Daily Bugle.'' Urich deduced the secret identity of Daredevil, and has used him as a source of information, and vice versa. To a lesser extent, he has a similar relationship with Spider-Man, whose alter ego Peter Parker, a photographer for the ''Bugle'', occasionally accompanied Urich on assignments. The ''Daily News'' is an American newspaper based in Jersey City, New Jersey. It was founded in 1919 by Joseph Medill Patterson in New York City as the ''Illustrated Daily News''. It was the first U.S. daily printed in tabloid format, and reached its peak circulation in 1947, at 2.4 million copies a day. it was the eleventh-highest circulated newspaper in the United States. Pastiche
A pastiche () is a work of visual art, literature, theatre, music, or architecture that imitates the style or character of the work of one or more other artists. Unlike parody, pastiche pays homage to the work it imitates, rather than mocking it. The word is the French borrowing of the Italian noun , which is a pâté or pie-filling mixed from diverse ingredients. Its first recorded use in this sense was in 1878. The Human Torch, also known as Jim Hammond, is a superhero appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. Created by writer and artist Carl Burgos, he first appearance, first appeared in ''Marvel Mystery Comics, Marvel Comics'' #1 (October 1939), published by Marvel's predecessor, Timely Comics.
