Dahlia Seed
Dahlia Seed (1992–1996) was an influential indie rock/post-hardcore band from the New York City/New Jersey area, that was instrumental in defining the sound which is now termed Emo. Beginning Dahlia Seed began in the summer of 1992, in the northern New Jersey suburbs as a four-piece band that played a tight, and aggressive version of the indie pop that was prevalent at the time. With all the musicians having a background in the New York hardcore scene, the sound of Dahlia Seed was a bit tougher than the other indie stalwarts of the era, but the most distinctive aspect was the vocals of Tracy Wilson. Her "in your face" vocal style and delivery, coupled with a raw, and honest "open book" lyrical narrative, made her one of the most unusual vocalists of the scene. Everclear (band)
Everclear is an American rock band formed in Portland, Oregon, in 1991. The band was formed by Art Alexakis, the band's lead songwriter, vocalist, and guitarist; and for most of the band's height of popularity, consisted of Craig Montoya on bass guitar and Greg Eklund on drums. After the limited release of their independently released debut album, '' World of Noise'', the band found success with their first three albums on Capitol Records: '' Sparkle and Fade'', '' So Much for the Afterglow'', and '' Songs from an American Movie Vol. One: Learning How to Smile'', which were all certified platinum in sales. Alap Momin
Alap Aman Momin (born 25 June 1974), professionally known as Alap Momin and Oktopus is an American musician, composer and producer. He is a former member of Dälek and MRC Riddims. Career Alap Aman Momin was born to Indian parents and grew up in New Jersey. From a young age, Momin developed an interest in music and took up playing guitar at the age of 12 and began to join local bands. Gradually his interest shifted to engineering and he started his first recording studio in 1993 in his parents' basement in Parsippany, New Jersey. Dälek In 1995, while at William Patterson University, Alap met Will Brooks and Joshua Booth. The three started collaborating as experimental hip hop group Dälek. Maxwell's, last known as Maxwell's Tavern, was a bar/restaurant and music club in Hoboken, New Jersey. Over several decades the venue attracted a wide variety of acts looking for a change from the New York City concert spaces across the river. Maxwell's initially closed its doors on July 31, 2013, and reopened as Maxwell's Tavern in 2014, under new ownership. It closed again in February 2018. Sound recording and reproduction is the electrical, mechanical, electronic, or digital inscription and re-creation of sound waves, such as spoken voice, singing, instrumental music, or sound effects. The two main classes of sound recording technology are analog recording and digital recording. Heavens to Betsy was an American punk band formed in Olympia, Washington in 1991 with vocalist and guitarist Corin Tucker and drummer Tracy Sawyer. The duo were part of the DIY riot grrrl, punk rock underground, and were Tucker's first band before she co-formed Sleater-Kinney. Both ''The New York Times'' and ''Rolling Stone'' included Heavens to Betsy in essential riot grrrl lists. Los Crudos
Los Crudos is an American hardcore punk band from Chicago, Illinois active from 1991 to 1998 and from 2006 onward. Comprising all Latino members, the band paved the way for later Spanish-speaking punk bands in the United States and helped to increase the presence of Latinos in the country's predominantly white punk subculture.
