Dagon Win Aung
Dagon Win Aung ( my, ဒဂုံ ဝင်းအောင်) is a Burmese businessman and chairman of the Union of Myanmar Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry (UMFCCI). He founded Dagon International, a construction company, in the 1990s, with Win Thein, a Myanmar Army captain. He has since expanded his business empire to the timber trade, construction and import-export sectors. Prome
Pyay (, ; mnw, ပြန် , ; also known as Prome and Pyè) is principal town of Pyay Township in the Bago Region in Myanmar. Pyay is located on the bank of the Irrawaddy River, north-west of Yangon. It is an important trade center for the Ayeyarwady Delta, Central and Upper Myanmar and the Rakhine (Arakan) State. The British Irrawaddy Flotilla Company established the current town in the late 19th century on the Irrawaddy as a transshipment point for cargo between Upper and Lower Burma. Dagon International Limited ( my, ဒဂုံအင်တာနေရှင်နယ်ကုမ္ပဏီ) is a major Burmese conglomerate with interests in construction, timber extraction, agriculture and import-export. Cyclone Nargis
Extremely Severe Cyclonic Storm Nargis ( my, နာဂစ်, ur, نرگس ) was an extremely destructive and deadly tropical cyclone that caused the worst natural disaster in the recorded history of Myanmar during early May 2008. The cyclone made landfall in Myanmar on Friday, 2 May 2008, sending a storm surge 40 kilometres up the densely populated Irrawaddy delta, causing catastrophic destruction and at least 138,373 fatalities. The Labutta Township alone was reported to have 80,000 dead, with about 10,000 more deaths in Bogale. The Irrawaddy Delta or Ayeyarwady Delta lies in the Irrawaddy Division, the lowest expanse of land in Myanmar that fans out from the limit of tidal influence at Myan Aung to the Bay of Bengal and Andaman Sea, to the south at the mouth of the Ayeyarwady River.
