Hiiumaa
Hiiumaa ( , ) is the second largest island in Estonia and is part of the West Estonian archipelago, in the Baltic Sea. It has an area of 989 km2 and is 22 km from the Estonian mainland. Its largest town is Kärdla. It is located within Hiiu County. Names Administratively Hiiumaa is the "main island" of the Hiiu County, called or in Estonian. The Swedish and German name of the island is or ('Day' island) and in Danish. In modern Finnish, it is called , literally 'Hiisi's Land'. Frank Salvatore
Frank "Mike the Dago" Salvatore was an Italian-American bootblack and later New York politician who eventually succeeded Chuck Connors as a major figure in Tammany Hall. Biography During the 1900s, as Connors began retreating into seclusion due to poor health, Salvatore quickly took advantage by forming the Young Chuck Connors Association which began directly competing against Chuck Connors organization. Salvatore continued to gain political influence from Tammany Hall and, after announcing he and the Young Chuck Connors Association intended to hold a grand ball in opposition of Chuck Connors' annual gala, he eventually succeeded in forcing Connors to compromise in which his name would appear on the programme of the Young Chuck Connors Association as a patron in between then World Heavyweight Boxing Champion Jim Jefferies and retired heavyweight champion Jim Corbett. The Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) consist of seven armed police organizations under the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), Government of India, tasked with maintaining internal security, law and order, counterinsurgency, and protecting borders. Previously referred to as "paramilitary" forces, the term was officially discontinued in 2011. Dago is an Argentine comics' character created in 1981 by Paraguayan writer Robin Wood and Argentine artist Alberto Salinas for Argentine magazine ''Nippur Magnum''. It has been published in South America, Spain and Italy, among other places. Overview Dago tells the story a 16th-century Venetian nobleman whose real name is Cesare Renzi. Cesare was betrayed and stabbed in the back by his best friend as part of a political plot during which his whole family is simultaneously murdered and framed for treason. Cesare survives the ordeal and is found adrift in the sea, with the dagger still in his back, by an Ottoman ship whose crewmembers save him and enslave him, baptizing him "Dago" in reference to the dagger that, like a mother, gives him a new life as a slave. Dagö is a folk rock band from Tallinn, Estonia. Dagö was formed in 1998 by Lauri Saatpalu, Peeter Rebane and Tiit Kikas. Dagö is the old name of Hiiumaa, an Estonian island. The band's first album, ''Dagö'', was released in 2000, and received the Folk/Ethno Album Of The Year award in Estonia. Toomas Rull (drums) and Raul Vaigla (bass) joined the band soon after. In 2001, Dagö won first prize in the ''Midsummer Night’s Improvisational Festival'' in Pärnu. Tiit Kikas left the group in 2002, and producer and musician Kristo Kotkas became the “invisible member” of the band. Francesco Cirofici (also known as Frank Murato or Dago Frank, 1887 – April 13, 1914) was an Italian-American criminal and gangster, who, along with Harry Horowitz, was responsible for the July 16, 1912, murder of gambler Herman Rosenthal outside the Hotel Metropole. Early life Francesco Cirofici was born in 1887 in Italy. He worked as a steam fitter as well as being a member of the Lenox Avenue Gang. Before his arrest in connection with the Rosenthal killing, he had been arrested only once. In 1905, he was imprisoned on a burglary charge in the Elmira Correctional Facility. In 1907, Cirofici's name appeared on a list released by the NYPD of gamblers known to make a practice of cheating steamship passengers. Arrest and trial Cirofici was arrested in connection with the Rosenthal murder on July 25, 1912.
