Daemon Hunt
Daemon Hunt (born May 15, 2002) is a Canadian professional ice hockey defenceman for the Cleveland Monsters of the American Hockey League (AHL) while under contract to the Columbus Blue Jackets of the National Hockey League (NHL). Playing career As a youth in 2011–12, Hunt played six games and scored two points for the Saskatchewan Junior Pats in the Brick Invitational tournament. He was a member of the under-15 team of the Brandon Wheat Kings in 2015–16 and 2016–17 before joining their under-18 squad for the 2017–18 season. He scored 60 points in the 2016–17 season and was selected in the first round with the 15th overall pick of the 2017 WHL bantam draft by the Moose Jaw Warriors. He had 36 assists and four goals in 40 games with the Wheat Kings in 2017–18 and also played nine games that season with Moose Jaw, scoring a goal and having an assist. The Virden Oil Capitals are a Canadian junior 'A' ice hockey team based in Virden, Manitoba. The Oil Capitals are members of the Manitoba Junior Hockey League. History The franchise was founded as the Winnipeg Rangers in 1956. The Rangers became the St. Boniface Saints in 1967 and later the Winnipeg Saints in 2000. The 2019 IIHF U18 World Championship was the 21st such event hosted by the International Ice Hockey Federation. Teams participated at several levels of competition. The competition also served as qualifications for the 2020 IIHF World U18 Championships, 2020 competition. David Jiříček (born 28 November 2003) is a Czech professional ice hockey defenceman for the Cleveland Monsters of the American Hockey League (AHL) as a prospect to the Columbus Blue Jackets of the National Hockey League (NHL). He was drafted sixth overall by the Blue Jackets in the 2022 NHL Entry Draft. Competing internationally as part of Czech Republic national team, he won a bronze medal at the 2022 IIHF World Championship, and a silver medal with the junior national team at the 2023 IIHF World Junior Championship. The 2022–23 AHL season is the 87th season of the American Hockey League. The regular season began on October 14, 2022, and will end on April 16, 2023. The 2023 Calder Cup playoffs will follow after the conclusion of the regular season. League changes After the previous regular season where teams played an imbalanced schedule consisting of 76, 72, or 68 games, all teams will now play an equal amount of games at 72. Standings will also be in order of points rather than points percentage (points percentage was used in the previous season, due to an imbalanced amount of games played per team).
