Onorato Damen (4 December 1893 – 14 October 1979), was an Italian left communist revolutionary who was first active in the Italian Socialist Party and then the Communist Party of Italy. After being expelled, he worked with the organized Italian left, became one of the leaders of the Internationalist Communist Party, commonly known by their paper ''Battaglia Comunista''. The Internationalist Communist Party, formally founded in 1943, was numerically the largest left communist organization in the post-World War II period. In 1952, Amadeo Bordiga, who had by then fully come out of retirement, split the party to found the International Communist Party, known by its paper ''Programma Comunista''. Daemen University is a private university in Amherst, New York, Amherst and Brooklyn, Brooklyn, New York, United States. Formerly Daemen College and Rosary Hill College, the now-nondenominational school was founded by the Sisters of St. Francis of Penance and Christian Charity, Sisters of St. Francis in 1947. As of fall 2020, 2,536 students were enrolled at Daemen (1,631 undergraduate, 905 graduate), and 64 degree majors were offered. Tom Daemen (born 17 June 1985) is a Dutch former professional footballer who played as a midfielder. He formerly played for Fortuna Sittard, MVV, NEC and Go Ahead Eagles in his native Netherlands and Cypriot teams AEK Larnaca, Enosis Neon Paralimni, Aris Limassol. Joan Daemen (; born 1965) is a Belgians, Belgian cryptographer who is currently professor of digital security (symmetric encryption) at Radboud University. He co-designed with Vincent Rijmen the Rijndael cipher, which was selected as the Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) in 2001. More recently, he co-designed the Keccak cryptographic hash, which was NIST hash function competition, selected as the new SHA-3 hash by NIST in October 2012. He has also designed or co-designed the MMB (cipher), MMB, Square (cipher), Square, SHARK (cipher), SHARK, NOEKEON, 3-Way, and BaseKing block ciphers. In 2017 he won the Levchin Prize for Real World Cryptography "for the development of AES and SHA3". He describes his development of encryption algorithms as creating the bricks which are needed to build the secure foundations online.
