Daegu National Museum
Daegu National Museum () is a national museum located in Hwanggeum-dong, Suseong District, Daegu, South Korea. It opened on December 7, 1994, and holds approximately 30,000 artifacts. Its main collection consists of archaeological objects from Daegu and North Gyeongsang Province region. The museum was built as a cultural facility to research, preserve, exhibit and educate visitors on the cultural heritage of Daegu and Gyeongsangbuk-do. On July 19, 2010, the Ancient Culture Hall, the Medieval Culture Hall, and the Textiles and Clothing Hall were opened to the public. Suseong District
Suseong District () is a Administrative divisions of South Korea#Gu (District), ''gu'' (district) in southeastern Daegu, South Korea. It is one of the most prosperous and high-density areas of Daegu, the site of the city's most extensive hagwon district, so it's called "Gangnam District, Gangnam of Daegu". The population of this district consists of those who have careers such as Physician, doctors, professors, judges and other high valued careers in Korea. Because of this, it is known for expensive housing and schools compared to other districts in Daegu. Suseong District shares its eastern border with Gyeongsan, and looks across the Sincheon (Daegu), Sincheon stream at Nam-gu (Daegu), Nam-gu and Jung-gu (Daegu), Jung-gu towards the city center. North Gyeongsang Province
North Gyeongsang Province (, ) is a province in eastern South Korea, and with an area of , it is the largest province in the Korean peninsula. The province was formed in 1896 from the northern half of the former Gyeongsang province, and remained a province of Korea (as Keishōhoku-dō during Japanese rule) until the country's division in 1945, then became part of South Korea. Daegu was the capital of North Gyeongsang Province between 1896 and 1981, but has not been a part of the province since 1981. In 2016, the provincial capital moved from Daegu to Andong. History The 1,000-year-old Silla Kingdom flourished and unified the previous three kingdoms. The area was named Gyeongsang-do in 1314 during the Goryeo Dynasty. Empas () was a South Korean internet search engine and web portal. Name The service was launched in 1998 by Knowledge Plant Corporation (), which changed its name to Empas Corporation in 2004. The ''Encyclopedia of Korean Culture'' () is a Korean-language encyclopedia published by the Academy of Korean Studies and DongBang Media Co. It was originally published as physical books from 1991 to 2001. There is now an online version of the encyclopedia that continues to be updated. Overview On September 25, 1979, a presidential order (No. 9628; ) was issued to begin work on compiling a national encyclopedia. Work began on compiling the encyclopedia on March 18, 1980. It began publishing books in 1991. The encyclopedia's first version was completed, with 28 volumes, in 1995. It continued to be revised beginning in 1996. In 2001, the digital edition EncyKorea was published on CD-ROM and DVD. It launched an online version in 2007. A second push to update the encyclopedia concluded in 2017.
