Dads (band)
''Dads'' was an American indie rock band from Piscataway, New Jersey, composed of guitarist/vocalist Scott Scharinger and drummer/vocalist John Bradley. The band relocated to Ann Arbor, Michigan in 2014. In 2020, Vulture named their song "Shit Twins" as one of the 100 greatest emo songs of all time. History Formation and American Radass Dads formed in the summer of 2010 as a trio consisting of guitarist/vocalist Scott Scharinger, drummer/vocalist John Bradley, and bassist Michael Nazzaro, all from various parts of the Central New Jersey area. The band quickly gained the attention of the emo revival scene. Dads soon decided to part ways with Nazzaro as they found it easier to connect as a two-piece and released ''The Essential John Denver EP'' the same year. In 2011, the band recorded and released the EPs ''Brush Your Teeth ;)'' and ''Brush Your Teeth, Again ;)'' respectively, with the latter being a repress that also included three new songs as well as a re-recorded song. Piscataway ( ) is a Township (New Jersey), township in Middlesex County, New Jersey, Middlesex County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey. It is a suburb of the New York metropolitan area, in the Raritan River, Raritan Valley. As of the 2020 United States census, the township's population was 60,804, an increase of 4,760 (+8.5%) from the 2010 United States census, 2010 census count of 56,044, which in turn reflected an increase of 5,562 (+11.0%) from 50,482 at the 2000 United States census, 2000 census. Emo () is a genre of rock music characterized by emotional, often confessional lyrics. It emerged as a style of hardcore punk and from the Washington, D.C., hardcore scene, where it was known as emotional hardcore or emocore. Testicular cancer is cancer that develops in the testicles, a part of the male reproductive system. Symptoms may include a lump in the testicle or swelling or pain in the scrotum. Treatment may result in infertility. Risk factors include an cryptorchidism, undescended testis, family history of the disease, and previous history of testicular cancer. More than 95% are germ cell tumors which are divided into seminomas and nonseminoma, non-seminomas. Other types include sex-cord stromal tumors and lymphomas. Diagnosis is typically based on a physical exam, ultrasound, and blood tests. Orchiectomy, Surgical removal of the testicle with examination under a microscope is then done to determine the type. Testicular cancer is highly treatable and usually curable. Treatment options may include surgery, radiation therapy, chemotherapy, or stem cell transplantation. Indie rock is a Music subgenre, subgenre of rock music that originated in the United Kingdom, United States and New Zealand in the early to mid-1980s. Rilo Kiley ( ) is an American indie rock band based in Los Angeles, California. Formed in 1998, the band consists of Jenny Lewis, Blake Sennett, Pierre de Reeder, and Jason Boesel. The group released their debut album '' Take-Offs and Landings'' under Seattle-based independent label Barsuk Records in 2001. After that, they released three additional studio albums and several EPs. In 2007, they were signed with Warner Bros. and subsequently made their major-label debut with the album ''Under the Blacklight''. History Rilo Kiley performed their first concert at Spaceland in Los Angeles in January 1998. Their debut EP, '' Rilo Kiley'' (later reissued as ''The Initial Friend EP''), was released in 1999. Charlyn Marie "Chan" Marshall ( ; born January 21, 1972), better known by her stage name Cat Power, is an American singer-songwriter. Cat Power was originally the name of her first band, but has become her stage name as a solo artist. Born in Atlanta, Marshall was raised throughout the southern United States and began performing in local bands in Atlanta in the early 1990s. After opening for Liz Phair in 1993, she worked with Steve Shelley of Sonic Youth and Tim Foljahn of Two Dollar Guitar, with whom she recorded her first two albums, ''Dear Sir'' (1995) and ''Myra Lee'' (1996), on the same day in 1994.
