Dadah Kiram Ismula
Dadah Kiram Ismula (born Haima Kiram Ismula; February 26, 1985) is a Filipino Moro politician and Indigenous leader who is a representative-elect for Akbayan Partylist. She was elected to the House of Representatives of the Philippines in 2025, as the third nominee of the Akbayan Partylist, which won three seats in an upset victory. Early life and education Ismula was born Haima Kiram Ismula on February 26, 1985, in Zamboanga City. She is a member of the Sama-Banguingui ethnic group, one of the Indigenous Moro communities in the Southern Philippines. She attended Pilar College for her secondary education from May 1998 to 2002. She then earned her bachelor's degree in Political Science from Western Mindanao State University, graduating in 2006. Banguingui is a distinct ethnolinguistic group native to Balanguingui Island but also dispersed throughout the Sulu Archipelago and southern and western coastal regions of the Zamboanga Peninsula in Mindanao, Philippines. An upset occurs in a competition, frequently in electoral politics or sports, when the party popularly expected to win (the "favorite") is defeated by (or, in the case of sports, ties with) an underdog whom the majority expects to lose, defying the conventional wisdom.
