DY Chandrachud
Dhananjaya Yeshwant Chandrachud (born 11 November 1959), often referred as DY Chandrachud, is an Indian jurist, who served as the List of chief justices of India, 50th Chief Justice of India from 9 November 2022 to 10 November 2024. He was Judgeship of Dhananjaya Y. Chandrachud, appointed a judge of the Supreme Court of India in May 2016. He has also previously served as the chief justice of the Allahabad High Court from 2013 to 2016 and as a judge of the Bombay High Court from 2000 to 2013. He also served as the ex-officio Patron-in-Chief of the National Legal Services Authority and the de facto Chancellor of the National Law School of India University. The second child of India's longest-serving chief justice, Y. V. Chandrachud, he was educated at Delhi University and Harvard University and has practiced as a lawyer for Sullivan & Cromwell and in the Bombay High Court. Droupadi Murmu (born Durgi Biranchi Tudu; 20 June 1958) is an Indian politician who has been serving as the president of India since 2022. She won the 2022 Indian presidential election, 2022 presidential election as the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate. She is the first person belonging to a Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes, tribal community and also the second woman, after Pratibha Patil, to hold the office.
