The Dominican Summer League Guardians are a minor league baseball team in Boca Chica, Dominican Republic. They are a Rookie-level team in the Dominican Summer League and are an affiliate of the Cleveland Guardians. Since 2011, the DSL Guardians have played their home games at the Academia de Prospecto Complex in San Antonio de Guerra. Dominican Summer League
The Dominican Summer League (DSL) is a branch of affiliated Minor League Baseball which is played in the Dominican Republic. The league was founded in 1985. After the demise of the Venezuelan Summer League after the 2015 season, it is the only Latin America-based rookie league. Teams in the DSL are owned and operated by Major League Baseball (MLB) franchises. The league's season typically begins in June, with each team playing a 72-game schedule, and ends in late August. The Cleveland Guardians are an American professional baseball team based in Cleveland. The Guardians compete in Major League Baseball (MLB) as a member club of the American League (AL) Central Division. Academia De Prospecto Complex
The Academia de Prospecto Complex is a stadium complex in San Antonio de Guerra, Dominican Republic. It is the home of the Dominican Summer League Indians and the Dominican Summer League Indians/Brewers. It is also where the Cleveland Guardians organization conducts all of its Latin American operations. History The stadium officially opened in May 2011, and since then it has been used to train the Dominican Summer League Indians. It is where the team plays its home games. As of the 2017 DSL season, the DSL Indians/Brewers cooperative team also plays its home games at the Academia de Prospecto Complex.
