DK1 Rigs
The DK1 Platforms (), abbreviated from cụm Dịch vụ kinh tế - Khoa học kỹ thuật (), are a collection of offshore platforms built by Vietnam in the southern continental shelf of the country in the South China Sea. The rigs are complex steel structures composed of logistics and living facilities, manned by Vietnam People's Navy personnel. Background In response to the PRC's expansion into the South China Sea (SCS), in the mid 1980s, the Socialist Republic of Vietnam predicted the need for it to protect itself. This led to the planning of, and in 1989, establishment of, the first DK1 rig. List Of Maritime Features In The Spratly Islands

Features by area Of the hundreds of maritime features in the Spratly Islands, relatively few have land permanently above sea-level that is larger than protruding rocks. There are only 13 islands and cays with a natural area above sea-level larger than one hectare. With the exception of Swallow Reef, prior to 2014 there had been no large-scale land reclamation beyond building breakwaters and piers, and extending runways. This changed dramatically in 2014 with the PRC embarking on large-scale reclamations of the lagoons of Johnson South Reef (~10ha) and Fiery Cross Reef (~230ha), and other reclamations of then unknown extent at the Gaven Reefs and Cuarteron Reef. Bombay Castle (South China Sea)
Bombay Castle, also known in vi, Đá Ba Kè; Mandarin ; Abad Santos Shoal ( fil, Buhanginan ng Abad Santos, lit=Sandbank of Abad Santos), is a reef with a lighthouse in the Rifleman Bank of the southern Spratly Islands. It is occupied by Vietnam, but also claimed by China (PRC) and Taiwan (ROC). Location and topography Bombay Castle consists of a submerged reef located between and (between and ) at the northern end of Rifleman Bank. At its shallowest point, it has a depth of consisting of sand and coral. It is east of Huyền Trân (Alexandra Bank) and nearly west of An Bang ( Amboyna Cay). Bombay Castle has a tall lighthouse on steel pilings that was built in 1995. The lighthouse is two storied, with accommodation for the lighthouse keepers and a dish antenna.
