DHL Balloon
The DHL Balloon, in Singapore, was the world's second largest tethered helium balloon. It was inflated in 2006, and closed and dismantled in October 2008. History The DHL Express, DHL Balloon was first located on Tan Quee Lan Street in the Downtown Core (Singapore), Downtown Core of Singapore, near the New 7th Storey Hotel and Bugis MRT station. Launched at a cost of Singapore dollar, $2.5 million, the DHL Balloon was a joint venture by Aerophile SA, Aerophile Balloon Singapore Pte Ltd and Vertical Adventure Pte Ltd, and took one year to plan. Clarke Quay is a historical riverside quay in Singapore, located within the Singapore River Planning Area. The quay is situated upstream from the mouth of the Singapore River and Boat Quay. Etymology ''Clarke Quay'' was named after Sir Andrew Clarke, Singapore's second Governor and Governor of the Straits Settlements from 1873 to 1875, who played a key role in positioning Singapore as the main port for the Malay states of Perak, Selangor and Sungei Ujong.
