D. C. Moore
David "D. C." Moore (born 1980) is a British playwright and television screenwriter. Biography He was raised in Duston, Northamptonshire. Now based in London, he started out as an assistant director and worked with Rupert Goold on productions of ''The Weir'' and ''Waiting for Godot''. He was then part of the Royal Court Theatre's Young Writers' Programme. His first play ''Alaska'' was produced upstairs at the Royal Court in 2007, and he won the inaugural Tom Erhardt Award for promising new playwright in 2008. His second play at the Royal Court, '' The Empire'', about young men in the War in Afghanistan, opened in 2010 and received positive reviews. On the strength of that play he was nominated for the 2010 Evening Standard Award for Most Promising Playwright. Duston
Duston is a suburb of Northampton and a civil parish in West Northamptonshire, England. History Archaeological remains found in the area suggest that Duston has roots in Prehistoric and Roman settlements. However, development in the area has meant that it is now difficult to find further remains. Duston has been a settlement since at least Roman times, and grew as a village in Anglo-Saxon times. In the Domesday Book, The name "Duston" derives from Old English words meaning either farmstead on a mound or farmstead with dusty soil. Duston was recorded as a farming community. St Luke's Church was built in the 12th century and has many medieval features. The old village was built up around this and has gradually moved westwards along Main Road. Royal Theatre (Northampton)
Royal & Derngate is a theatre complex in the Cultural Quarter of Northampton, England, consisting of the Royal Theatre, Derngate Theatre and the Northampton Filmhouse. The Royal was built by theatre architect Charles J. Phipps and opened in 1884. Ninety-nine years later in 1983, Derngate, designed by RHWL, was built to the rear of the Royal. Whilst the two theatres were physically linked, they did not combine organisations until a formal merger in 1999; they are run by the Northampton Theatres Trust.
