D. B. Weldon Library
Western Libraries is the library system of the University of Western Ontario in London, Ontario. In 1898, the university Senate appointed James Waddell Tupper as the University of Western Ontario's first University Librarian. In 1918, John Davis Barnett founded the Western Libraries collection with a donation of 40,000 books from his personal library. Before this donation, the collection held less than 1000 different works. Western Libraries has since grown to include eight locations, which are the D. B. Weldon Library, the Allyn and Betty Taylor Library, the C. B. Johnston Library, the Education Library, the John & Dotsa Bitove Family Law Library, the Music Library, the Archives and Research Collections Centre, and the Map and Data Centre. Academic Library
An academic library is a library that is attached to a higher education institution, which supports the curriculum and the research of the university faculty and students. According to the National Center for Education Statistics, there are an estimated 3,700 academic libraries in the United States. Class reading materials, intended to supplement lectures by the instructor and housed in academic libraries, have historically known as "reserves". Before electronic resources became available, the reserves were supplied as actual books or as photocopies of appropriate journal articles. Modern academic libraries provide access to electronic resources. Academic libraries must determine a focus for collection development since comprehensive collections are not feasible. Middlesex College (University Of Western Ontario)
Middlesex College is an academic building located on the campus of the University of Western Ontario. The building is known for its collegiate Gothic architecture, spire, and clock tower. It currently houses the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science. Along with University College, the building is one of the most iconic buildings on the University of Western Ontario campus and is heavily used in promotion of the university. Gay Pulp Fiction
Gay pulp fiction, or gay pulps, refers to printed works, primarily fiction, that include references to male homosexuality, specifically male gay sex, and that are cheaply produced, typically in paperback books made of wood pulp paper; lesbian pulp fiction is similar work about women.
