"D.I.S.C.O." is a song by the French band Ottawan, written by Daniel Vangarde and Jean Kluger and produced by Daniel Vangarde. Ottawan originally recorded it in French. It was first released in 1979 and reached number two in the UK Singles Chart the following year. The song's name is an acronym and comes from the lyrics in its chorus, in which a woman is described as "D.I.S.C.O.". In other words, each letter of the word standing for a certain quality, except "O", which simply leads to singing "oh-oh-oh" ("She is D, delirious / She is I, incredible / She is S, superficial / She is C, complicated / She is oh-oh-oh"). Daniel Bangalter (, born 1947), known in his musical career as Daniel Vangarde, is a French former producer, lyricist and songwriter who co-wrote and produced several hit records in the 1970s and 1980s, including " Aie a Mwana" with Jean Kluger, "D.I.S.C.O." by Ottawan, and "Cuba" by the Gibson Brothers. The father of Thomas Bangalter, best known as a member of the electronic music duo Daft Punk, he is credited with aiding the duo in their early musical career. "It's Chico Time" is the debut single of former ''The X Factor'' contestant Chico Slimani. The single was released on 27 February 2006. The song was written and composed by Mark Hudson. Background Chico first performed the song on ''The X Factor'' on 19 November 2005. It was the only time that a contestant had performed an original song during the live stages of the show, until series 9, when contestant Lucy Spraggan performed her own track, "Mountains". The track was released on the back of the success of the performance, and peaked at number one on the UK Singles Chart on 5 March 2006, toppling Madonna's hit single " Sorry", and staying at the top of the chart for two weeks.
