Christine Ott
Christine Ott (born 10 August 1963) is a French pianist, vocalist, ondist, and composer. She was a member of Yann Tiersen's band for eight years and played in classical orchestras for ten. She has collaborated with Tindersticks, Syd Matters, and Jean-Philippe Goude. Ott has released four solo albums: '' Solitude Nomade'' in 2009, '' Only Silence Remains'' in 2016, '' Chimères (pour Ondes Martenot)'' in 2020 and '' Time to Die'' in 2021. She also composed the soundtrack for F. W. Murnau's ''Tabu'' in 2016. She has created several live soundtracks shows, including for Lotte Reiniger's movies and Robert J. Flaherty's ''Nanook of the North''. Ott formed the duo Snowdrops with Mathieu Gabry in 2015. Together, they composed the original score for ''Manta Ray'', by Phuttiphong Aroonpheng, and in 2020, they released the album ''Volutes'', on Injazero Records. Nanook Of The North
''Nanook of the North'' is a 1922 American silent film that combines elements of documentary and docudrama/docufiction, at a time when the concept of separating films into documentary and drama did not yet exist. In the tradition of what would later be called salvage ethnography, the film follows the struggles of the Inuk man named Nanook and his family in the Canadian Arctic. It is written and directed by Robert J. Flaherty, who also served as cinematographer, editor, and producer. Some have criticized Flaherty for staging several sequences, but the film has been described by Roger Ebert as "stand ngalone" among Flaherty's films "in its stark regard for the courage and ingenuity of its heroes." Noir Désir
Noir Désir (, ) was a French rock band from Bordeaux that formed in 1980. Their most consistent lineup featured Bertrand Cantat (vocals, guitar), Serge Teyssot-Gay (guitar), Frédéric Vidalenc (bass guitar) and Denis Barthe (drums). Jean-Paul Roy became the band's bassist in 1996 after Vidalenc's departure. They released six albums, two of which were certified double platinum in France and three which were certified gold. Louis Warynski (born 6 January 1984), better known by his stage name Chapelier Fou (Mad Hatter) is a French electronic musician from Metz. Since 2008, he has released five EPs and nine studio albums, all through the independent record label Ici, d'ailleurs... Life and career Louis Warynski was born on 6 January 1984, in the French city of Metz. He entered the local conservatory at the age of six and went on to learn multiple instruments, including the violin and harpsichord. Julien Doré (; born 7 July 1982) is a French singer-songwriter, musician and actor. He is the winner of the fifth season of the television show ''Nouvelle Star'', aired on the French Television M6 channel. Life Doré was born in Alès (Gard, Occitanie), and grew up in Lunel. ''Ersatz'' is the debut album by French singer Julien Doré, winner of the fifth season of the television show ''Nouvelle Star''. The album was released worldwide on 16 June 2008 on Sony BMG. It entered the French charts at number 2 and stayed in the top 200 for almost two years. Loïc Lantoine is a French singer and songwriter born in Armentières, Nord-Pas-de-Calais, France. He wrote songs for Jehan in ''Les ailes de Jehan'' and for Allain Leprest and in 2000 for the show ''Ne nous quittons plus''. He also became part of formations La Rue Kétanou, he was a founder of Mon côté punk. He was part of a duo with François Pierron, and then a quartet by including Eric Philippon and Joseph Doherty, and finally a quintet with the addition of Thomas Fiancette all under the name Les Loïc Lantoine. Têtes Raides is a French folk rock group. Group history The group was founded in Paris during the 1980s. Originally, they played music heavily influenced by the punk movement and depended on electric instruments. Their third album featured Anne-Gaëlle, a classically trained cellist, and marked a turning point in the group's music toward a more acoustic sound. The group's later efforts misleadingly take on the air of quotidian folk songs while actually using stunning musical arrangements, experimental soundscapes and poetic lyrics rife with very dark humor. Dominique Ané (born 6 October 1968), better known as "Dominique A", is a French songwriter and singer. Early life Born on 6 October 1968 in Provins, France, Dominique Ané is the only child of a teacher and a homemaker. He was passionate about literature and music from a young age.
